Dana Point Crit
I raced, I got 2nd.
It seems my form is finally coming around again after 3 weeks of very little riding, and now 3 weeks of back on schedule. Raced the Dana Point crit which is a fast technical and somewhat hilly course. Field strung out from the 1st lap and stayed strung out, was very hard to move up, but thankfully I never fell more than 10-15 back. Tried a couple attacks to try to gauge where to start my sprint from. Went from about 150m out and 2 guys managed to get on my wheel, 1 came around (who I later learned used to be a cat 1) and held the other one off.
#'s for the race: 26.1 average, 305 average power with 342 normalized for 40min. 1200 watt sprint with 1000 watt 20 second power. Gotta get that initial jump about 300 watts higher.
Prizes were 55 cash and 50 in merchandise which equated to 4 tubes and a pack of starbucks coffee. Since when do tubes cost 11 dollars each ?
