Filippo Simeoni wins in Italy. Is it a last laugh at Lance?

Considering that he's been limited to C and D list races, Sevilla still finishes 2nd to Valverde? Ball must be pissed.

Wegmann does it again, but evergreen Ete Z proves that he's sill got his mojo.

Lars Boom may be on the development Rabobank team, but that didn't stop him from beating the big boys.

The real question is which ones did you get to see, botto? Or is it easier just to tell us which ones you did not see?

Must be quite hard being a sports fan in Europe this weekend (Euro Cup, Nat'l Champs). Hey, I had Giants/A's and an hour of Oly Trials T&F tonite.

Lars Boom = best name in pro cycling right now, although Stijn Devolder gives him a run for his money.

Most unfortunate name in pro cycling? Christian Poos. (Third in the Luxembourg championship RR)

I went and watched a few laps of the Danish Championship -- 16 laps including the dreaded "Golfbakke" (Golf Hill) in the heart of the Fynske "Alps" -- 60 m vertical at 5% or so. It was funny to see the pack all together on one lap and then _totally_ strung out on the next when CSC decided to ramp things up a bit.

Nicki Sørensen won by minute or so. 5 or 6 CSC guys in the top ten.

I left early, but the guy I went down there with ended up hanging out with Nicki's dad and Michael Rasmussen at the end. Pokkers.

Slipstream's Dan Martin won the Irish championships, a week after he beat Moreau to take the Tour de Sud. It'll be nice to see the Irish jersey at some of the big races next year.

Speaking of the Chicken, I just read this: apparently, Rasmussen made a little spectacle of himself riding the course on race day. Anyone could ride it (it was kind of fun going up the hill with everyone cheering), but apparently he rode immediately in front of, and even in the middle of, the motorcade for the women's race.

That. Is. Not. Cool.

Was that his way of sticking it to The Man?

I mean, seriously, what are you thinking Mr. Chicken?

Mexican wife. On top of the location being used to hide doping, it's also a great way to get a tan.
