Ethics question #Infinity
Would it be ethical for me to obtain and administer to myself some EPO and Testosterone so that I don't downgrade back to the Cat 5s?

Sorry. No downgrades to the 5's.

Correct
Welcome to my world. If you and I lived in the same area, we could sprint for next-to-last place!
Road Downgrades
A rider who wishes to downgrade may request a downgrade online. Such requests will be evaluated individually. In no case will a rider be allowed to downgrade to category 5.

there aren't too many guys around here that continue past the 5s weighing over 200lbs. I am currently 238 as of this morning (up from 217 at the end of last race season). Gaining 20 lbs does wonders for the inability to hang on to a wheel even in a large group. I would like to be back to 215 by the end of August (very doable) and under 200 (for good) by the end of the year. Until then I will continue to get my ass handed to me even at the weekly training crit.

I'm 210+/- down from 250 in October and need to see 200 to fully claim my new bicycle so I feel your pain. Trying to cut weight and build power seem to not go together very well for me.

You have to secure the right EPO, I'm sure you realize there is the Cat1 EPO, Cat2 EPO, Pro EPO etc. Don't get the Cat5 EPO and/or try to save money by getting the Kroger brand

^^^Wanders, most people desire to excel at the highest level possible or at least attempt to compete at the highest level possibe. A cat 5 with 20+ starts really isn't doing himself a favor I feel. Get out of the 5s and start racing. The 4s in my area are noticeably faster and the races are at least 1.5x the length of the 5 races.

Blast from the Past
There is a real ethical question here. Say im an older rider, naturally experiencing a drop in Test. Is it unethical to go to my physician complaining of lack of energy, ect and get that supplemented? Along with say HgH?

^^^Don't attempt to turn this into a real thread...I made it originally to mock the increasing number of ethics threads here!!!
To answer your question, I don't think Doctors jump to prescribe EPO as a supplement. In fact, I think you would have to have something very wrong with your ability to create blood cells for them to prescribe it.
My grandfather had Acute Myeloid Dysplasia which eventually caused his death. Basically the bone marrow stopped making RBCs and his Hematocrit levels were in the 8-15% range (normal human is in the 40-50% range if i recall correctly). They still did not prescribe EPO until I asked the Doc about it. I think they ended up giving him ProCrit and it still didn't work.
