I raced
This is a race I'm usually struggling to stay in the pack but I didn't ride much last week so I had fresh legs and felt good.
Coming out of the final bend I was placed just where I wanted to be for the sprint, 10th wheel and feeling strong.
Then just as we were winding up for the sprint a friend of mine gets his front wheel taken out right next to me ~28mph, he goes down hard and the guy that caused it starts swerving into me as he looks back to check his rear wheel
Luckily there was no one inside me cos I had to swerve to avoid the crash and the rubber necker.
So this kind of threw me off my sprint, end result I got 8th.
The guy that went down was ok, banged his shoulder up and broke his saddle but he came out a lot better than I thought.

Damn... A lot of crashes out at PIR. Glad you avoided it.

Yeah, I saw an older guy from the 4/5(?) looking pretty shaken up, getting some first aid.
There's been four crashes in my race this season, one guy was really messed up, broken ribs, broken vertebrae, nasty stuff.
That was the closest I've been to one, I felt bad for the guy who went down, it wasn't his fault at all.
