Oops. You go do whatever it is that you need to do out of town next weekend, Merlin.

Mike, you just have to get used to riding with gears again before the weekend. You are riding very well now. Now ride smart next weekend!

Yesterday when pre-riding the course I felt "off" all day. This morning I woke up with a sore throat and a little fever. Bummer.

Actually, I'll be with old friends riding in Pocahontas County West Virginia (Snowshoe) and eating and drinking to excess.

So my priorities aren't totally skewed.

All these new-fangled doodads on my handlebars... I'll get them levers straight sooner or later.

Hope you start feeling better soon.

Merlin, have a great trip. I'm sure I'll see you next season.

Well that's wonderful..... I mean a real shame. With Merlin gone, I'll go from finishing 50th to 49th. I'm excited.
