Your thoughts on this deal

G/F asked me yesterday what I wanted for xmas. Well, I was browsing ebay this morning and found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-Cervelo-P3C...3A1|240%3A1318

Man, it would be a sweet fit...

Thoughts?

The wheelset is worth nearly 3k alone.

Racer X just sold his P3C frame set for 1600 or 1700 bucks so do the math. 3k is about what this build would end up costing you if you bought a used frame and paid retail for everything else new. Now you've got to figure you might not like the cockpit so you may be selling that, you'll need a decent TT wheelset and you might not like the saddle. In reality you might be better off just getting a frameset and building your own bike.

My thoughts- I wish I had a girl like that! If I'm lucky, I'll get skewers from my mom. Good luck with your choice.

Where are you guys finding complete P3carbons for way less than 3k? The frame set is going for $2800 alone. You can find P2c's for that.

Its called having a great relationship with your LBS.

I honestly payed 2600 for a 2007 P3C sure it was at the end of 2007, plus I had purchased two bikes from hm earlier and the componants for another two bikes.

OK, say you haven't spent thousands of dollars at your LBS during the year, where can someone get a complete P3C for less than $3K? I don't think the OP has that kind of great ($$$) relationship with an LBS.

BTW, I ended up with my Bianchi TT frame through a great relationship with my LBS. I was interested in the P3C but my LBS isn't a Cervelo dealer and I couldn't find a great deal on the frame anywhere locally (a year ago).

Look I can get anything for cost from my team sponsor, but not everyone has that option. If you do a quick google search the best frame only deals are around 2800 bucks. Your original post implied that sub 3k deals on complete P3c's were common, that is just not the case.

Maybe not common but it took about 20 seconds on google to find this so I assume there are more out there: http://bendbikensport.com/itemdetails.cfm?ID=431

Your 20 seconds failed to pick up that the bike cannot be shipped and is an 'in-store' deal only. It's a good deal though and if you've got a buddy in the area who can pick it up and ship it for you you are set.
