We haven't raced San Antonio and Dade City yet. But yes, I'll probably be down there for those two.

Well, unfortunately I can't make Dade City this weekend. Valentine's day has me staying here in Miami. Can't exactly convince the wife that San Antonio/Dade City is much fun for her...

Hahaha, OK you got me. I'll be at the RR, but that's only because I can make it home in time to take the honey out. I doubt I'll show up for the crit this Sunday, but with my team currently being in 2nd place for the florida points series, I may be tempted to try and round a few guys up and piss off my wife.

I will try to make one or the other...I have been in Virginia for three weeks but I'm meeting my wife in North Carolina this weekend for my daughter's gym meet (confused yet? Me too..). Hope I can come up with some good Valentine's weekend brownie points so I can come down next weekend.

My wife loves bike races, seriously.
Valentines Day is just another good reason to go racing.

Missed the UF weekend due to sickness, won't be missing anymore.

You're a lucky man. My wife wouldn't come to downtown Gainesville to watch our race on Sunday even though we only live two miles from the course.

But, she did bake all of the cookie/brownie primes for the BIO races, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Anyone know anything about the courses. I see that the Lake Mary crit is .8 miles "flat" and "fast" with 3 turns. Can anyone describe the courses in more detail??? Also, since the Sanford one is a lakefront crit, does any one know if it is a windy course?

Lake Mary is just that, fast and flat, the turns are gradual, and the course is pretty much wide open.

Sanford is tighter. First turn is narrow because of a traffic island, and the last turn is narrow because a lane is fenced off. There are bricks in the intersections which can be slippery.

It can be windy, with the front stretch open to the wind.

It's a fun course though, and downtown Sanford is a pleasant small town setting.

Sometimes Sanford is a 6-corner crit, with 3 of the corners on old bricks. When laid out this way the course is pretty technical.

When they cut out two of the corners and make it a 4-corner rectangle, it's a pretty straightforward non-technical crit. It seems to change from year to year. 2006> 6 corners
2007>4 corners
2008>6 corners
2009>?????????

Merlin is right, though. Corner one is tricky because it's where the two-lane start/finish straightaway funnels into one lane with a traffic island and DOT-bots. If you're in a big field you want to be very near the front going into that corner.
