sprint speed unimpressive. I can hold out a bit longer than some, but not a whole lot of peak watts.

Unbelievable top-end for a skinny dude. We'd stand on the sidelines and guess how many bike lengths he'd win by.

He really should have hit the track for some match sprints, but the closest velodrome at the time was 8 hours away.
Yeah, Mike has incredible finishing speed. He usually comes from mid pack and wins by multiple bike lengths.... but.... if the peloton knows he's sitting in for the finish they really turn the heat on to try and waste as much of his energy as they can... He usually has to do alot of work near the front to chase down those last minute attacks to ensure a sprint finish. I've only seen him go off the front once. He and two others stayed away for about 5-6 minutes. I don't think he contested the sprint finish that day. The one time I heard he attacked with about 1.5k to go, the pack hunted him down and left him for dead with about 300m to the line.

He regularly beats Cat 2s and 3s in the sprint at this event. Fortunately for him it's only a 20 mile race.

This is why this thread needs to die.

It's because you used Zipp 1080's of course. Duh. Every Fred knows that.

Perhaps, but its existence gives me a profound sense of superiority.

In my youth in Chicago we called it "gapers block". You would get stuck in a horrible traffic jam on the freeway and it turns out that it was caused by people slowing down to look at the carnage on the other side of the median. Some people just have to look.
