Bryan Park Circuit Race (Cat 5)
USA Cycling Judges + Camera + Mac = No placements confirmed above top 5

It appears there was some issues recording/watching the video from the finish, so anything above top 5 was not posted. In either case I think I was around 10th but might have made it into the top 10. Made 1 attack, bridged 2 gaps, and had a fairly good sprint at the end, until 2 riders that blew up decided to slow down right in front of me. Lost a couple places due to them blowing up but I guess things happen.

Bryan Park Circuit Race Women's CAT 4

Plan going in since I had NO teammates, talked to another gal who also had no teammates, (we are both spinters) COVER the two really strong gals, don't let them go off the front.
So all is going well, the two strong gals keep looking back to see if someone is going to pull through.. NOPE... we cover every attempt..
2 to GO, crash, 6 of us in the front.. make it through... Really stong gal starts ramping up just before the long sweeping down hill;
I stay on her wheel; get to my spring point, stand-up... pavement is so rough the back wheel starts hopping around... crap, have to sit back down... ONE more time... UP... bounce around.. have to sit again, it was like being in a pick-up truck and have the A55 end fishtail... I'm closing.. but not soon enough... finish 2nd!!!

Master's state championship today..

i lasted 28 of the 45 minutes..

Normalized power for the 28m was 269w!!

i had 27 720+ 5s powerpeaks in the 28 minutes..just too many matches to burn for me.

Good news is i can bump up my FTP..i was guessing it to be about 250w..i might be a bit higher.

the Cat 3 race went OK...i was still hurting from the 30+ masters race. there were allot of attacks, i bridged like 4 times and went way too far into the red with 4 to go to catch the last break. couldn't recoup in time and just wandered across the line with the pack.

all and all a crappy day for 260 miles of driving but hey...it is what it is right?

Capital City Criterium Cat 4s, Saturday.
Holy ****! Died just trying to hang on. Several 3s in waiting in the pack. (Said they'll upgrade after the state championships.) Lasted 30 of the 45 minutes; Normalized power 245 watts with 5s bursts of 882 watts. IF was 1.081. Pulled out when, like Crash, had no more matches to burn.

Silver lining: I was not the first to DNF.

Did the 50 mile Tour de Cure for diabetes the next day.

District championships, felt strong, flatted 35 laps in, teammate got the win.

I'm off to sacrifice my neighbours firstborn to the cycling gods

CT Stage Race:

10th in TT
Sat in through the circuit race
2nd in the 90 mile road race o' death, standing around in a daze at the finish and get told that they DQd the winner for yellow line violations and I had won...very surreal and not entirely satisfied (to quote DiLuca "It was not beautiful") but I suppose a W is a W, rules being rules and all.
9th or 10th in the GC, the road race had surprisingly minimal attrition.

New Englanders get your ass to this stage race next year - amazingly well put together, epic road race, kind locals, etc...

overslept for the 10:15, and felt a little lazy to ride to the 12:00. should have, but...

*edit*

double damn. just off the phone with a friend who was in your race. he won the amateur As.

How to win the sprint:

Get on the wheel of the guy who you think is going to win

10 mile TT tonight. felt good, rode well. finally cracked the 25mph barrier. That may seem like small potatoes to some of you hammers but to me it was a big milestone

Unless you're looking over and seeing Alberto, the race is really against yourself. Good job!

23 laps of a .9 mile 6-turn crit. First race as a cat4 and it was a combined 3/4/masters 30+. Honestly, I thought it would be a lot faster then it was. I was expecting to get blown out the back with the 3's in the mix. Either way I just cannot be as conservative when I race. Did well, finished with the pack (15th). Could have done better, oh well. Live, learn, race again.

The rider from Team Dumbass put in an exciting two laps off the front in this evening's Tuesday Night Worlds. Trying to time when the race would be called on account of rain, he burned his matches early and misjudged by one lap, which was enough for the rest of the field to pass and shell him.

Good fun , but I will never ****ing learn.

Tuesday night training crit.

I wore the wrong jersey (Aka collegiate jersey and not team jersey) and got yelled at for not pulling in the chase group. We had a teammate in the break. I just got my kit today, so I'm psyched!

Training crit:

40 mins
226 w AP, 264 NP. 1200 W max.

Won my first prime today. I was chasing things down again today since a teammate was in a break, and none of my attacks had anyone go with them. I positioned myself at the front in the last corner before the last prime of the race.

2 guys in front of me, one stood up so I sat on his wheel. I kept upping the cadence even as he stood up and then he started to slow and sit down, then the guy next to him stood up so I got on his wheel instead. As he came into the straight, I jumped around him and gunned it to the line. Kept going but I had a little gap and no one wanted to bridge and go for a break, oh well.

I was too cooked to sprint for the finish, but I'm really happy with how my form has been coming around.

6/2/09 - Ace Speedway

4/5 - Pack Finish
3/4 - Was doing great until somebody's tire blew, riders went down in front of me, then I went down crashing into the guard rail. Just some road rash but my fork and brand new Rival is all scratched up, & my OP Ptap wheel is f'ed up.

Why do I do this again?

Bummer, Lonnie- I didn't know you'd gone down in that. Fortunately there was less damage- to people at least- last night than two weeks ago.
