OK to wear another team's skinsuit for a TT?

My team wants to sell me a skinsuit but they're expensive. I only do aroudn 4 tt's a year so I feel it would be a waste. My friend has an old skinsuit he's willing to sell me for cheap. Morality aside, is it legal to wear another team's jersey for a USCF time trial? The team no longer exists if that matters.

Nope. Illegal and immoral. Wear your team jersey or a blank skinsuit if you don't want to buy one.

Also, keep in miind that a used skinsuit is just as nasty as used bibs or shorts.

Wouldn't it be great if they took all the rules and collected them in one place? Maybe published them or made them available through the internet?

But really, just for dramatic effect :D

Oh yeah, I'd also like to point out that once you consider that a skinsuit is like a jersey AND shorts, it's usually cheaper.

Because it's not always possible to cut and paste from a PDF file and if people are too lazy to click on a link, I'm sure not going to go to the trouble of typing it out for them. Beisde, think of what you might learn going through the rule book looking up the relevant section.

Legal or not, no official is going to penalize you for wearing another teams kit in a TT. As far as the morality, if you have a sponser giving your team a boatload of cash, it would be expected that you wear the kit (and while training as well). If your sponsers are giving team discounts or small amounts of money, than it isn't a big deal.

how many criteriums do you do/yr? skinsuits are crit appropriate also.

I get $5000 in sponsor money for every Cat 5 race I enter, does that count?

nope, but it proves that you're the uninteresting troll that i've always suspected you to be. ;)

Don't even try to compete, I am at least 20x less interesting than you.

Just wear your regular kit, a skinsuit isn't going to catapult you up the rankings

So you say. The data says different.

Apus^2 03-13-09 07:29 AM

1N5c...starts out: UCI Teams and Category 1 & 2

Not illegal for 3, 4, 5--you can wear whatever kit.

Except the controlling rule is 1N5d, but thanks for playing.

No one is really going to care. Unless it was P/1/2 race I'd give my officials a really hard time for even considering punishing for something like this. I mean, that would mean those new Cat 5's riding their favorite Discovery kits would be punished. That would be pretty lame.

:roflmao:

ZeCanon 03-13-09 11:16 AM

Just get the skinsuit and use it for everything but road races. All crits can be raced in a skinsuit, you don't need to eat anything in 75 minutes so there is no need for pockets.
