My 2nd race...or...a lesson learned.

Last weekend was my first race, which I posted in the 'race report' thread...today was my second. (Pinellas Park Fl, Cat 5 circuit race) The lesson I learned was: survive the accelerations and all will be well. Much better result this time. Finished with the pack instead of soloing for 6 of 8 laps like last weekend.

congrats man!

I remember someone posting that just when you think you are done, hang on for one more lap--just one more. After that one lap, you may have forgotten you were "done" on the previous lap. Good mental exercise there.

Great job. I raced this with you. Crits are much harder for me at this stage of my training. This circuit race had much fewer hard accelerations given the course loop. I posted my report in the Race Report thread, but I was the one who shot up the left with over 500 meters to go. Stayed away and finished 4th. You may remember me because I was also the guy lying on the ground to the left after the finish having been involved in a crash. Congrats again on your result!

True. He was in the Cat 4 race. From what I heard he was unconscious for several minutes. Hence, the ambulance. Not exactly sure what happened there.

He either took the turn to wide or got pushed wide and went into a cone. Did a cartwheel off the bike.

Congrats on a great race!
