San Dimas Stage Race Roll Call
So, who signed up 2 months ago?
I'm in for my first Cat-2 only race. My fitness sucks right now so it should be an adventure.

I have a teammate doing the 2s race. He'll be in the top 5, if not the top 3, in the TT.

Hi,
I was planning on doing it but a friend who has done it twice said the RR course sucks. He basically talked me out of it.
I'll probably ride up the back side of GMR on Friday (since I already set up a vacation day) to see some of the racers finishing the TT.

Hey, I'm upgrading immediately after San Dimas.
Procedural question: I understand that upgrades can take a while... I want to race the following weekend as a 3, but am concerned they may take too long. If I request the upgrade ahead of time, and for some reason they review it quickly, am I screwed? Can I request the upgrade to be effective after a certain date?

Your license says 4 and no one is going to kick you out of the race because they've spent time cross referencing your registration with teh internetz. Whether or not your USACyling page says 3 or 4 you'll do the race, so who cares?

I am in for 4's. I don't think I'll ever get out of this category.
Are there start times for TT posted anywhere?

So I was checking the reg list for the 4s and for some reason I thought to cross-check it against the socal cup standings. Apparently I am in 14th in the socal cup standings and am the second-highest ranked cat 4 that is registered I don't know how that worked out

well, here's the deal. If i was in your situation, I'd send the upgrade in whenever. For all intents and purposes (that's 'intensive purposes' to you illiterates) you're a 3. You don't need the points in the 4s race and the two possible results are 1) you don't finish in the points and just make the field size bigger for those who get them or 2) you take some points away from the hundreds of 4s trying to upgrade in cali

I don't really care about the socal cup. If it's my last race as a 4 I won't have any more chance for advancement in ranking.

It really has nothing to do with the So Cal Cup itself. The thing to keep in mind is that all SCNCA results are checked against the USA Cycling database. I run registration for SDSR and would not BS you. You will not be able to race out of category. Been doing this for five years and have seen it all before.
There open spots in the Cat 3 race if you want to take a crack at 8 laps.
