We always stay around that area but further north around Aguadilla. At the vacation home we rented in Rincon a few years ago they had some bikes in the garage so I took one out for a spin but stopped riding around because the drivers were absolute nut jobs. I'm used to it in a car because but on a bicycle it's perilous especially when you ride on the smaller roads where drivers take sharp turns with no regard as to what might be to their right.

In a perfect world that would be great but it doesn't work out for us too well to do that, I might do it one of these years though and just make our stay a "family visit/bike riding extravaganza". The Vuelta looks nice because it's a safer way to ride around PR than just on your own. When I rode there I found nothing cycling friendly about it from the motorists.

yep. will never forget getting a ride back from a club/bar, after some reggaeton dancing, where a friend of mine (from san juan) would lean over his steering wheel at stop signs/red lights and check to see if there were any lights, as he blew past them.

mind you, he was 3 sheets to the wind at the time.

I'm more shocked by the reggaeton dancing than anything else.

That thread has potential....for what I don't know. Shame that a discussion trying to help a member sort out sizing issues turns into a semantics battle royale.

Our flight isn't until midnight which means we get to Aguadilla at 4am....ugh. The thought of the beach and lots of loafing around makes it worth it though, I think I'll keep active by chasing chickens.

I think I might have seen this movie 30 years ago but had no recollection of it.

Hard to believe how many big stars they could put in one movie and have them all work together so well.

Y'all won't believe the edit job I just did. The Beatles film Let It Be - I re-edited one of the song sequences to include alternate camera footage which showed others in the room at the time of the recording. One of those "others" was the one who paid me to do it.

Well, I'm back from Huntsville. Whirlwind trip. The code was flying. Lots of cool bugs fixed and I got to spend some quality time with a profiler coming up with some creative optimizations -- I love that stuff.

One thing I didn't know about Alabama:

So, yeah, I had to go back to the space and rocket center. Twice. Image upload from the phone is a bit odd (missing bottom rows)

"oh, hi!"

I thought I recalled that the world's record overnight snowfall was somewhere in California. Since recollections of this nature, i.e. from 30+ years ago, are usually wrong, I looked it up. I was wrong. California actually holds the records for 2 day and 'single storm' snowfalls.

Mount Shasta Ski Bowl, California

Single storm snowfall record: 189 inches (15.75 ft.) February 13 – 19, 1959.

Note: There were 103 inches of snowfall measured from Feb. 15–17 during this event, which holds both the United States and the world’s greatest two-day snowfall on record.

The 24 hour record is a mere 67 inches.

Pulled an all nighter last night so I slept all day and then picked up the kids from school. We went to the fro-yo shop and then decided to go for a ride. Ended up doing 10 miles, with a dinner break at Old Sac. Not too shabby for 6-year olds.

Well that was unexpected.

I'm not really sure if how I reacted was right, or if there is a right answer.

Folks, don't become interested in your friends or let them become interested in you. It gets mad awkward mad quick.

a few weeks ago i was talking about all-nighters with a friend, and how i hadn't done one in ages.

then i found myself experiencing a 60 hour day.
