Only issue with green beans is that they take forever to cut up to cook. I have to cut the ends off them. Is there a better way? I love eating them, but preparing them takes forever and gets me frustrated. It's worth it though I suppose, they really are delish!

I spent 75 bucks on groceries and got 2 steaks, 2 3-packs of pork tenderloin chops, 2 3-packs of chicken breast, 2x 2lb things of oatmeal, buncha squash, eggs, bread, lunch meat, 5lbs potatoes, cheese, etc etc etc etc. I came home with my messenger bag and two panniers completely packed.
I had a feeling you'd say Market Basket. I'm in South Boston, but there's no Market Basket's close by. My parents who live up on the North Shore rave about it. For most of my meats, etc I just go to the little corner butcher store down the street. Good quality stuff at pretty fair prices.

Yeah, I have no green bean secrets really. I usually just end up sauteeing them or throwing them right on the grill. I had amazing green beans at a restaurant on Friday night...put mine to shame....

Don't forget to pay your Fire Dept fee if applicable. Wouldn't want the fire dept standing around watching your house burn completely to the ground because you forgot to pay the $75 fee... even when the neighbors were offering them thousands on the spot to put it out.

Does anyone have a ridiculous zoom lens the can review for me? Looking at the Nikon 28-300 which on my DX camera would be like a 35-400. Not super fast but it covers the spectrum.

It's the end of the season...I had a very long and drawn out internal debate with myself this morning just to get on my bike....then I hated every minute I spent on the bike. Me thinks I'm done for a bit.

I got to that point and backed off considerably. I stop pedaling when I feel like it now. Just turn and go home.
I'm feeling a lot better now.

One more book recommendation -- Killing Romel. A fictionalized account of the Long Range Desert Patrol. Events and characters are real, perspective is from a fictional squad running around with the real ones. Talk about HTFU. Roll through the Saharan desert navigating by stars and sun fully self contained and relying on fuel and food dumps that may have already been consumed or destroyed.

This is a beautiful book as well. Wind sand and stars. Same author as the little prince. St. Exuperry (sp).

Spent the past 2 days in the wind tunnel, helping Cobb out and playing guinea pig. It's always fun and a great learning experience.

I hit that point about a month ago and spent a week goofing off. I'm back to training though and am going to do the Tour de Gruene TT for fun.

Never look back after selling, It'll cloud your future decisions. A lot of people lose a lot of money chasing a peak. Set your goals before buying, stick to them, and overall you'll be more successful.

If you throw in writing, hunting, and fishing you've written Hemmingway's biography.

Lost my childhood home to a fire when I was 17. Not fun. The people rifling through the debris pile were particularly bad.

Yeup. Like grumps said, "you don't lose money selling for a profit." Otoh, checked again, and it's up 21 cents. Not second guessing myself, more like trying to use this as a learning experience. My mistake was that I got a little spooked when I saw it falling a hair yesterday instead of setting a ceiling price for the sale, I just sold it at market. I'm trying to figure out why it boomed after. I think that it's just a good day for the markets today. No new info has come out about the company. Atleast not to my knowledge. They released a report on the 6th saying that their mine would be operational by the end of the month, but I figured that would have worked its course by now. They just went into their best prices of the last year and edging closer to the prices they used to have before the crash.

Here's the little engine that could: http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=GBG

Man, what a wonderful day to be alive. Did some fun skills drills with my coach and some other girls this morning, rode around a bit, then got home and decided that I didn't want to go to work. My girlfriend is going out of town this afternoon, so I called in sick and we went out for breakfast (eggs, corn beef hash, potato pancakes, toast with jam, french toast, coffee).

Walked over to the farmer's market, went crazy buying root vegetables and apples, went to the library, now chilling at home with a good book (reading Joshua Ferris right now). After she leaves I'll go for a run, then to yoga class, then cook myself dinner. Lovely.

Meh

A Moveable Feast was publsihed posthumously, and just thrown together from various manuscripts Hemmingway wrote that were never intended to be a book.

If you're interested in Hemmngway's life, and what it was like to be an expat at that time, it's interesting but really not much of a book.
