Cut it out. The ride along the ridge to the village is a piece of cake. And once you reach there you can hang out in the lodge eating pie and ice cream. Then take the fast downhill ride back to your car. 40ish miles and maybe 5K at the most.

The thought never occurred to me that there'd be so much turmoil by inviting umd and kuf to the Baldy ride. I didn't invite them to initiate anything between all the players involved. Honestly. My thinking from the start was that it would be great to ride with BigJohn once again (he's the one who informed me, in this thread, about the ride), and since umd hasn't been up to Baldy, it would be great to invite him because he's good company on a ride. kuf going along would be icing since I've yet to meet her. Then get BenFR to go along and it would be fun for me. That's it. An open, social bike riding event on public roads.

After I invited him and he expressed interest did I remember the possible conflict with u, k and Bz. My next thought was, well, it's not likely they'll even ride together. Bz likes to video his friends, waiting for them as they catch up to shoot them, going down hills and stuff, which is fine. If anything it might be an opportunity to help smooth over that bygone drama, just by being in the same vicinity, which also happens to be a big friggin mountain range for crying out loud! I mean, it's not like we're talking Axis vs. Allied powers stuffed into a small room.

Last thing I want to see is frame pumps being thrust into spokes, nudges along steep cliffs, or two roadies wearing cleated bike shoes going at it Popeye style.
Don't stress it at all. One can only assume one is dealing with adults, when they prove otherwise and decide to leave the realm of reasonable behavior then they can go pout/hold their breath/stomp around elsewhere. I remember the base layer thread and the whole conflict there was pretty ridiculous, if he can't let that go and enjoy a ride just because someone he doesn't like is going to be there then plan a kids ride and invite him on that one.

And now for a moment of silence for the last workday during DST in the USA.

Now if I want to ride with the "big light in the sky" illuminating me and the road I'll have to come in late to work instead of leaving early.

At least I did sneak out early today to mark the occasion. And it was the first ride of the year for me with a base layer, arm warmers, and knee warmers all together. It wasn't that cold (low 60's F), but it was a bit breezy (15 mph with gusts to 25 mph). And it is "pro" to be warm. It is also a good idea even if you aren't pro.

sounds like a good night. Which year of noah is this? Don't you already have one? is this a second one - or rebuilding the previous one?

I wish mine were looking like yours - building up the soloist and a gluten-free eggplant/jarlsberg pizza sounds perfect.
however, I've got cooking for next week w/ the gf and catching up as we had had a long week... Maybe I'll finish the bike post-ride tomorrow.

It's not a hard climb if you don't go all the way to the ski lifts.

EDR is going to have a nice night.

I love the "Holy Grail" movie because I love Bergman movies. It was a total homage.

struck out on Dogfish. went with a seasonal from New Belgium, 2 below. Either its not the Abby ale I was looking for or my taste buds are still fried from the atomic mole I had for lunch.

that you are unlikely to do well in the parts of the race where the ref makes everyone ride one-legged?
