srsly though I do need a haircut. Wanted to get one before we left but I didn't manage to. Debating whether I want to get a buzz cut like usual or go to salon or something and get a "good" haircut.

I took a look. Typical confusion between "fred" and "poseur".

Went and got an MRI last week. Diagnosis is a bulging disc and the treatment is a shot of something to reduce it so he says.
The shot just stops the nerve from being pissed of temporarily. It masks symptoms. People who have the shot feel better for a bit, but then the steroids wear off, and their life goes back to sucking because they do more damage when they feel like they're 'all better'. PT helps, as does figuring out what you're doing wrong...

Tensor Fasciae Latae tightness or tightness in other muscles in the leg can sometimes mimic sciatica because the muscles end up putting pressure on the nerve or increasing neural tension. I had a dx'ed disc issue, but PT that focused on reducing the tension gave me relief if I kept it up.

As a side not, I've been having some weird tingling/tightness in my upper mid back. Seems like the same area that feels a little bit of pressure during lifting off for incline bench work. It hasn't gotten worse in a while, so I haven't bothered to have it checked out. I've been foam rolling it and that helps.

damn. looks like tucson training camp isn't going to happen. The kid I was supposed to carpool with bailed so I'd have to fly. The kid who I would be riding with thinks he will be in more or less full interval mode by the time I would be able to go as well, and he just doesn't think it would be worth it. I totally agree. Bummed, but it is just the way it worked out. Hopefully next year we can plan a little bit better and make it a reality.

I have over 2,000 of them (ex club DJ). I wish they were worth something, as I'd like to get the space back.

Awesome! I bet you'll do better this year. You've been training very consistent it sounds like. Consistency is key.

Thanks. Consistent is a very good descriptor. I've been sticking with doing base, nothing fancy, get myself to the warmer weather days with a few miles under my belt, and then see where it takes me.
