When I first went to Myrtle Beach with my wife and her family (all true southerners) I found a Dunkin Donuts. I bought 3 dozen!!! No one touched them except me. They made fun of me the whole time because they looked "odd." The Krispy Kremes were gobbled up each morning and had to be refreshed. I continued to slowly graze on all the Dunkin Donuts until I finished them all. Well, maybe a few of them tried one or two. But I practically ate them by myself.

Several years later and I cannot keep enough of them in the house we stay at.

Best Donuts I've personally ever had: http://www.winchells.com/

substructure 03-30-09 09:03 AM

Google a "Luther Burger." You may be disgusted. Or disgustingly aroused.

gsteinb 03-30-09 09:42 AM

there are some situations where things happen. this may be one of them. stay tuned.

substructure 03-30-09 09:46 AM

A "situation" happened to me this weekend.

His will probably be more exciting.

a little outdated, and a little too techno geek indulgent.

simple, non design design, w/o flash is what's in right now.

gsteinb 03-30-09 04:27 PM

That one thread is pretty good.

I lost interest before the flash intro bs was done.

Here is a good donut place (if your into fancy stuff): http://voodoodoughnut.com/menu.php. Check out the maple bar with strips of bacon on top. mmm.

And Krispy Kremes is (or was?) nothing but a bunch of marketing hype.

gsteinb 03-30-09 05:42 PM

I saw that place on the travel channel. Well, donut plant as well. I see a pilgrimage coming up.

Shouldn't this be phrased as a twit.

Something like...Watching the travel channel about donut plant, thinking about a pilgramage.

I'm not sure if I'm following a twit or not. :innocent:

I did see an site recently just like you described. Very clean and understated. I was uncertain how I felt about it.

gsteinb 03-31-09 06:49 AM

Wow, my legs are sore.

substructure 03-31-09 06:51 AM

Mine finally feel better. Just in time for a real, bad whoopin' tonight.
