Good on ya. I wish I was motivated enough to be more involved with my team (other than just going to rides/races)

There's a thread in the 41 about not being able to clip into speedplays. I think that's the low point of July.

Just remind yourself that no good deed goes unpunished.

Trying out the knee again tomorrow. 12.5 mile TT. Fingers crossed it goes OK and I don't have any pain during or after.

Indeed.

Isadorah had last year's leader's jersey silk screened for me.

July isn't over. Do not under estimate the stupidity of the 41.

I haven't looked at that thread, but did the OP clean his cleats?

So if the knee feels good.....?

A bread knife cuts flesh as well. This was typed solely with my right hand as my left is currently "indisposed".

mike868y 07-16-10 05:35 PM

The tarmac got a new chain tonight. And I didn't break anything :P

I diced my finger before with the shredder blade for the food processor.

I think they're brand new.

The bleeding has stopped. Now I have to deal with the blood stains on a relatively new kitchen towel.

And I can type with two hands again!

About to leave work and sit in traffic for an hour...

Actually on bad days I'm not even sitting, friggin' standing on the bus!

Sometimes traffic is so slow I have to watch gramps idle by on a cruiser on the MUP next to the highway. Ouch.

And it's all my fault since I've been too lazy to ride in. That will change next week. Screw the bus!

ridethecliche 07-16-10 07:18 PM

Rode home from a fare thee well gathering for the girl that I'm replacing. It was great and I like the people that I work with even more now.

Upon my return I found my bike headlight in a package. Awesome, since I had a close call when a car in oncoming traffic tried to turn through me. Then I realized that I ordered a light with a euro plug. Need to go get a converter from the hardware store now. Ugh...

The light is awesome though! Just need to wrap the battery with cling film to waterproof it. I wonder if I have to modify the headlight to ensure that it doesn't get soaked inside. I hope not!

Not that I will ever be close to a leaders jersey, but what is the procedure prior to screening? Do you pin your sponser on or just leave it off?

Also, what age group do you have it in? (nvm I stalked you, seems 35+ last year)

But there isn't much racing here for at least another month. And the better stuff isn't for at least another month after that.

Yeah, there are some race like group rides. And because there is no real racing many participants make these rides their races for the week. If the local pro's are feeling that way you have to bring your "A" game to a midweek group ride. That had better be in your training plan.

Back at the height of the Ben Afleck and J. Lo hyper-drome they were going to remake Cassablanca with the two of them....thank god Ben came to his senses and dumped her.

It could have been a result like this

but probably not as smart.

ridethecliche 07-16-10 08:38 PM

I wrapped the battery in cling film. Hopefully that will keep it dry in the rain.

I'm psyched to have a headlight. Now I can ride at night and be seen!
