Seriously, wine woot is awesome. If they shipped to PA, CT, and MA, I'd be set...

They have decent wines on there for less than 25 bucks a bottle most times, and then there's this stuff. 3 packs of good wine for 55 shipped is pretty good. 6 for 55 is wayyy better. I woulda been all over this haha.

It's really only a maybe. I'm supposed to be off the road for three months. That gets me green lighted for track nats. But what will I need to do for winning form? It's outside my knowledge base. Do I die all summer in the basement to basically race for three weeks?

Amazing how an entire year can turn on a dime. I feel broken.

You've been doing this for a while. What you need to remember is that the body is incredibly resilient. You can heal and you will heal, when you come back to racing (not if you come back, because you WILL come back) you will take the time to come back into it and be stronger than you were a week ago by the time next season starts up.

I had a similar thing happen two years ago, and my season following that was wayyy better than I'd ever imagined. You need to take your time to heal because healing and your being able to race are one and the same.

It sucks, yeah. But you have a lot to look forward to, racing included. For now, take the time to physically and mentally heal and spend time with the broad and spawn. Seriously.

You'll get there, and we'll be here while you need to vent. Maybe you should mentor a youngin' while you heal up. You once considered taking me under your wing for a brief moment, maybe now you can mentor someone once you're back on the road. You're an incredible racer, and I bet you'll be able to teach a lot.

Yeah gb, you'll be amazed at the form you'll have when you come out of this. After my collar bone recovery, I was freaking flying. Won my first race back.

This time around, the fitness I'm recovering isn't all that impressive, but I'm already pretty far beyond where I was when I went down.

Why are you off the bike for 3 months? To prevent injuring the pins/plate/bone interface?

Can I volunteer for this position?

Seriously I bet you will surprise yourself when you come back. My teammate fractured her pelvis back in March, and at practice yesterday she was ripping our legs off

The purple Raleigh is in the works, but it ain't free... if nothing else the Ciocc will be rolling this weekend.

Haven't signed up yet for this weekend but I don't think the 4's field will fill up yet anyway.

That's how I felt when I looked down and saw the broken cleat. "Well, there goes 4 months of training and one peak". But at least I'm in one piece and not getting stitched and stapled.

You can do track Nats. I don't think any event is much over 20 minutes, so you don't have to go out and do 3-5 hour rides. Just work on FTP and 1 & 5 minute power. Leg strength and leg speed. For me I can get that stuff up to par pretty quick, even if I come off a longish break. Look at it like one of those "30 days to a better you" videos.

In the mean time focus everything on mending and keeping positive. Don't look at what you might have lost or be missing; instead think about crushing people's hopes and dreams on a beautiful 250m board track and seeing your name next to the 1) on the scoreboard.
