So Eric Stoltz was to play Marty McFly, huh? They even had 5 weeks of footage cut together before going with that other guy.

A friend said he was burned out riding on the road. I suggested he borrow my cross bike and go for a ride around the lake. Apparantly it sounded like a good idea. Instead of borrowing my bike he bought a Colnago Prestige.
On a side note I've got to get my serotonin levels squared away. This sucks.

To my great surprise eBay sided with me. They said it was becoming obvious that either this guy didn't read the ad and thought he was buying a new frame or he just flat changed his mind. The eBay rep said that had gone to greater lengths than most sellers would have to make the deal work. So instead of the guy getting a partial refund he got nothing and as far as I know the frame is still sitting at FedEx.
EDIT: So the guy left me very negative feedback. Here is my recourse through ebay:
What happens next?
We'll send the buyer an email alert that he or she has a Feedback revision request. The email includes your reason for requesting the revision and the message you wrote. The buyer has 10 days either to agree and revise the Feedback or disagree and state a reason.
If the buyer hasn't responded within 7 days, we'll automatically remind the buyer of the request. If the buyer responds, we'll notify you of the buyer's decision immediately by email. If the 10-day window expires with no response from the buyer, we'll notify you by email that your Feedback revision request has expired. Sellers can only submit one request per transaction.
No matter what the outcome of your request is, please respect the buyer's decision.
So he was wrong. He lost his dispute but he still gets to leave negative feedback.

Also, since sellers can't leave negative feedback, I've heard that some sellers have set up a "blacklist" of bad buyers. You could add this guy to the list.

I got pretty quick at it just for fun. Missed the slide rules by a couple of years ... my older brothers had them though.
Why ? I have one, but barely ever look at it. I'll keep it in case it becomes useful at some point. ( I doubt it)

Speaking of the Citgo sign, when I was at NU I lived on Park Drive. The bike shop I worked in was called Jimmy Yee's Cycles on Queensbury Street. It was in the same block as Filthy McNasty's, the bar that had a line all night long in front of the Asteroid's video game.
Yes, I'm as old as pcad. Maybe older.

(I left RIM out because I think Droid will be able to go enterprise, starting with the Droid Pro coming out, and that may accelerate RIM's fall)

I need some good Sid and Nancy ideas for costumes. We're not drug addled enough. But could be very drunk to help with the part. I'm not pale enough either. I need to lose 20+ pounds to get to 140.
I need some quick fixes.

one single lee press-on nail on a pinky. (it's for doing a quick shot of coke without the hassle of lining it up)
oh and find the most useless but imposing looking set of boots to wear and put them on, along with unbelievably tight and constricting jeans. wear them for ten days straight without laundering. never tuck a shirt in. extra points if the shirts are way too small.
you could also invest in perfume. patchouli and sh1t is a good combo.

I'm thinking about whipping up a Dexter kill-room costume.
I've also thought about talking the whole family into being zombies, then learning Thriller. There are few things more disturbing than a 7-year-old girl zombie missing half her face. One of those things is the girl dancing to Thriller.

Well you could always score your chest with razor cuts...start poking needle holes in your arms and let them fester a bit. Contracting hepatitis would help too.

Looks really cool, but haven't played with it yet. I'm wondering if it will get on the radar. We could end up with the home computing equivalent on phones:
PC --> Android
Mac --> iPhone
Linux --> MeeGo
(I left RIM out because I think Droid will be able to go enterprise, starting with the Droid Pro coming out, and that may accelerate RIM's fall)

Heading up to the Tahoe Rim Trail tomorrow after I finish some 'round the house projects. Snow's melted so the trails will be buffed and tacky, temps are perfect. Top of the world to ya. Some incredible views and the altitude and weathering produces remarkable fauna...giant marble shaped granite boulders, huge scree fields and ancient gnarled pines. It's a utterly hostile environment that seems completely benign until the storms roll in.
I like the Red House Flume trail where you have to cross that little dam.

And that stupid little gold padlock on a chain that every obnoxious punk kid felt obligated to wear back when I was an obnoxious punk kid.

We are slowly moving from RIM to Androids here at my work, with Exchange 2010 being very smart phone friendly it's working out very well so far. And yes that Droid Pro is gonna accelerate the process, most of the execs here don't want a touch screen only phone, the Droid Pro is very attractive.

Then again, my gps seemed to work fine this morning when I decided to try it out while actually outside. I wish it was as fast as my friends Iphone, but it's much better than I expected.
I love the phone and the OS, but I really don't like samsung's quirks and support (or lack thereof). All in all the package is very good though. The new phone I got (i returned the first one due to a dud pixel) has incredible battery life. I'm guessing 1.5-2 days easy on a single charge. It was at 70% when I started to charge it before bed last night, and I had spent the day using the web, music, etc etc.
I'm very happy on the whole. GPS would be nice, but having a map and having street signs etc, I can find where I am and get directions on gmaps with nary an issue.
One thing I have noticed is that when I'm trying to send someone a phone number via text, I can't go into my contacts, hold down the screen to copy, and then paste it in. I have to go into the edit menu and copy it there. That seems a little silly when on my old phone I could do that and it was a brick...

for those of you who consider yourself breakaway specialists, do you find yourself using a different saddle (say with more nose padding) or fidgeting with the alignment of the saddle (say be tilting the nose down a bit, moving it forward, and/or moving up the seatpost)?
so should we tell everyone?
