Nothing is as silly as when BF Mods try to start making this a classy place. Good grief what a monument to futility. I suppose in that sense, it's a worthwhile pursuit, like amateur bicycle racing or the Mets.
Let us know how that works out for you.

Thank God Daylight Savings Time ends tonight. Who the eff thinks it's a good idea for it to stay dark until 8AM in November?

Thread cleaned up from posts attacking other members. Enough. Violations of the forum guidelines are being enforced.
Harrassment
Harassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, and denigrates another member at any time. We have zero tolerance for taking an argument about a any topic to a personal level. For instance, the use of terms such as "idiot, moron, stupid" and other derogatory terms constitutes harassment. The idea is to make this a pleasant environment to discuss cycling, not a schoolyard, or name-calling and rock-throwing festival. Repeated critical and sharply negative posts toward a forum member can also constitute harassment. This applies to all content submitted by users including posts, avatars and signatures.
Personal attacks and inflammatory behavior will not be tolerated.

If they're a struggle because they're tiring, then you're be fine.
If they're a struggle because your foot seems to not go in circles, work on it. Smooth out your pedal stroke. For the "work" use two legs, not one, then test progress using one. I'd recommend using rollers and a trainer, work on spinning too fast while keeping the upper body rigid (yes, rigid, not relaxed) then slowly work on relaxing the upper body. For me "too fast" was initially 120 rpm avg for an hour, on rollers or low resistance trainer (rollers seem more productive). I haven't done that in a while, frankly.
You can also roll a huge gear on a trainer then shift into a little one. Your rpms immediately go up. Don't bounce. Okay, you can bounce at over 200 rpm, preferably over 250 rpm. At normal rpms (60-140 or so) don't bounce. If necessary really clamp down on the bars, push your hips into the saddle.
I consistently, consistently watch new riders bounce in the saddle. Work on form because form is forever. In violin form is critical to maximizing playing ability. My sister (who was the 4th kid in our family to learn and therefore my mom had the most experience with what had to be done) spent a year on violin form - she literally had a box and a ruler taped to it for a year. She's the one that got the furthest - at 6th grade she was where I stopped progressing when I was 17. Her hack piece is a piece I could never play - my hack piece is from around my 6th grade time too, and it's pretty simple relatively speaking. In cycling it's similar, but the main form thing is hips on saddle - no bounce. There are riders with somewhat bad form that progress, but the two big ones are kind of suspect - Pedro Delgado and Tyler Hamilton. And they have a lot of side to side - their hips stay planted and still relative to the saddle. I have yet to see a good rider bounce on the saddle.
A good friend who's been racing/riding for literally 23+ years has a terrible pedal stroke thinks 1-leg drills are the toughest workouts around, meaning coordination-wise. He made it to Cat 3 back in the day, could out ride me at that time, but now he struggled even in Cat 4 races. He acknowledged his bad pedal stroke but can't accept the work it'll take to fix, kind of like me and dieting when I was 180-190 lbs. I knew I was heavy, refused to do anything about it until one day I just said "Eff it, I gotta do something".
This applies for 1-leg drills on rollers and the trainer, i.e. no resistance through relatively high resistance, low rpm through high rpm. It shouldn't matter if you have good form.

I watched that unfold yesterday and was inclined to say something but stopped for a couple of reasons. I'm tired of being the wet blanket and there are mods who frequent this thread. In fact, I'm willing to bet that it went unnoticed yesterday by mods who were around. This forum is relatively good at policing itself, but having a couple of active mods in the racing forum certainly couldn't hurt things. Why that was allowed to go on for page after page baffles me, as does why said party is allowed to harass others via PM or other methods. Most of this falls on deaf ears though.
While I agree with the spirit of the BF zero tolerance law, it seems to by applied in a less than equal fashion.
In other news Ridley Noahs are stoooopidly hard to run cables through.

I'm heading to the BF ride this morning. Haven't seen Kiddsisko in a few years, probably won't recognize him. It will be good to see umd and I've only met kuf once before. Never met Benfr.
Vertical Bob has a new BMC, haven't seen it yet. My friend Laura will be there, maybe Valleygirl, too.
O.K., that's probably enough positives to convince myself. I might actually enjoy the ride, too. I wish I was a young whippet-like climber so I could show umd and Benfr some other climbs today.

Freaked out my wife by waking her at 3:30 am PDT. I had a break between presentations and thought I'd call her. I did half the time difference calculation: I added two hours but forgot to flip p.m. and a.m. Total brain fart. D'oh!
Has coddling tendencies.
Ready to do battle... against the elements. Can't believe I got out of bed before dawn (last day for that) to ride a bike in the cold up a mountain. New rear tire, fixed computer, clean bike and clothes, lubed nuts, all systems go!
i got nothing.

stole your bike
That happened with an ex once when I called to let her know I arrived safe and sound in Edinburgh but completely spaced on the time difference. To make matters worse I sounded terrible after a few hours having some pints and shouting at a pub (local football derby that day: Hearts vs Hibernian).

I'm thinking I would not like to see a call from Iraq at 3:30am. Seems like an unusual time for good news.
