I've been feeling that my seat's too high anyhow so last night I went to lower it. Of course I measured it first. Turns out that it's dead on the LeMond formula for what I thought my inseam is. I thought that I should double check that, so I enlisted my wife and measured my inseam. We found that my inseam is .5 inches less than the figure I've been using for the last seven years. WTF? I know people shrink as they age but I thought it was in the torso, not the legs. And we measured it carefully the first time.

Since feeling trumps measurement I lowered the seat 5mm. It feels way better.
What group ride? Was it recent video? I feel like I should have noticed.

So Ben Day will be at Redlands defending, but on a new team, Kenda. His ds is Frankie Andreau.

Cool.

I knew that local (for me) Phil G was on the team, but I was surprised to see a recent Gator grad Bobby Sweeting was also on the team. Those guys could sure animate the weekly hammerfest.

CDR- yea that sounded stupid the way I wrote it. What I meant was that the fitting formula is just a formula (it's an average of the racers that Guimard measured. LeMond popularized it, he didn't invent it). Real people differ, and what's ideal for one person may not match the formula. For example Boonen runs his saddle 2cm lower than it "ought" to be.

Chris- it's the chain reaction ride.

my slow fat ass is around 14 min.. in the green Webcor kit and black tights.

@ Mammoth Mt hospital waiting for stitches on my left leg. Took my 4 year old son skiing and crashed pretty badly. The ski cut my leg under the knee pretty deeply even though I was wearing ski pants and baselayer. Knee is swalen and was bleeding hard. I guess no bike for a while

He rarely did the local hammer rides, unlike Phil G, but when he did sparks flew.
