Where was this race? Sounds like it was in D.C.

You must have a private jet. I think we should haul you before a Congressional Committee over this and they should make you sell the jet to Rock Racing.

I was not aware of this Branch Brook event, I would have raced there today. Oh well. I liked that course, and I liked the 45+ field. I was much more in my element with the older farts.

I did way too much work. I was sure a break would stick so I bridged to every well represented one. Pretty good head wind on one side so no one was that keen on pulling into it. Positioned myself well for the field sprint. Three of us kicked hard. Looked at each other and said '****, that's far.' One guy kicked again and pwned me. He won by a couple bike lengths. I had second by a couple. Conceivably second gave me the GS cup leader's jersey, but who knows. Event two is mother's day in cherry hill, so I have to decide on going to defend/get the leader's jersey, or doing bear mountain.

It was a who's who of NY cycling there today. I'd have done the 1, 2 race (100k) but I'd really have nothing left for tomorrow. As it is I'm pretty sure I left my A game out there.

Well, there will be plenty of team mates there tomorrow to commiserate with each other if there is some godawful crash. Like all other scary scenarios, I get the feeling the fear of this TT course will be far worse than the reality. But if there is a mishap, it could be a friggin doozie. Let's hope everybody keeps the shiny side up tomorrow.

When you beat these guys do you hear the lamentations of their women?

Dunno, you'd have to ask Spawn. When I won a race in NH last season, as a total unknown, he said there was a collective groan from the crowd.

The Branchbrook course is treacherous. Narrow roads, lots of bumps, bottles rolling around everywhere. It makes for very intimate riding, and very hard to move up in the pack.

It didn't strike me as that bad, no fast descents, only one corner.

Maybe not, but nothing like the spacious confines of PPark and CPark.

You have some strange perceptions, man. That place is notorious for crashes. Hell of a one in the 45+ race. Meat wagon on stand by.
