last call for Bristol Mountain RR
I can picture it now ... you're planning to spend all day Saturday making Papier-mâché hearts for your mother while watching Sophie's Choice. Oh you'll be in the mood alright and your mother will appreciate the gesture, but there's a better choice for you.
Sack up and race!!
You can bring your mother some road rash or better yet some cash from your Saturday exploits.
Where: Western NY, Canandaigua specifically. Yes this means if you live in any of the following locations you're within earshot of us; Buffalo, Syracuse, Cleveland, Ontario CA (including Toronto), Binghamton, even NYC!
When: This Sat. P/1/2 goes off and 10AM
The course: False flats, rollers, and two solid hills that will separate the fields.
How: Bikereg (of course)
Why: Because your momma would be proud.
Day of registration is available and pre-reg closes this Friday.
Visit THIS SITE for more info!!!
Hope to see you there.
Mark

Yeah, I am so tempted to do this race. I have one teammate doing it. The thing is we are doing a little club race that same weekend. So yeah... to be a good teammate or not? :-P I think the club race wins out.
geneman, you doing Tour of Syracuse?

haha your right, I want to do Bristol! GVCC puts on a lot of really great races. I tried to make it down for the giro series. Maybe next year.

The race has moved around a little in the past few years. Last year we were on a completely different course because of construction on 64. The prior two years we were on the traditional course and had the finish at the park and then every year before that we finished on the hill.
Are you racing?

I'll be there in the 4s. No more Mosher hill this year, right? I don't mind the steady climbs, but the short steep ones are leg breakers for me.
Hopefully I'll be able to come away with some upgrade points, since I know the rest of the 4s want me out of there.

Sorry Mark, I talked to the guys and my team can't make it.
However, I'll see you at Syracuse next week. Is that your club's race as well?

Lightbulb - yes we're back to the traditional course. Mosher is gone for now, thank God.
KP - you guys suck for not coming. ;^) Not sure if I'm gonna make it to Syracuse, but it's not my team's race. We have Bristol and that's enough.
IKYR - you know you wanna race. Split the drive up with a friend.

Hey Grumpy ... sounds like the race was tough for you. At least we avoided the rain and 15 deg drop in temp that showed up 30 mins after I packed up the last of the crap and went home.
Seems like everyone had a good time. No crashes to speak of. Registration went smoothly and almost everyone got their checks. I still can't believe the draw we get from Canada. Easily 100 of the 230 guys who raced.
Thanks for coming out.
