Pettachi has been looking great. Farrar a bridesmaid again...he's fast, but not very smart it seems. Never seems to make the right move at the right time.

If you go back and look Cavendish racked up his biggest wins in the 2008 Giro & Tour, when Petacchi wasn't in either race. I don't believe for a second MC is faster than Ale-jet.

The best Tour of the year (yes I said it) and it's not on Versus....thank god for Universal Sports!!! After following pro cycling for over 25 years I'm still amazed how someone with a 500+meter lead still gets caught in the final K. I really felt for that guy, he was blown...and so close to the line...

It looked to me that LPR Brakes took advantage of the crash.

When they saw that Cavendish was behind due to the crash, they went straight to the front, and put the hammer down for their "asthma patient". Not very classy, boys.

oh whatever. it's a bike race, and it's not like Cav was in the running for overall GC.

There was a 13 man break ahead of them that included Levi...Liquigas was the first big team to put the pressure on and start to pull the break back. What do you think they should have done, pulled up and let Levi get 1 minute or two on them? I sure didn't see Levi telling everyone to slow down the Pink jersey is caught up in a crash. I don't think LPR did anything underhanded at all

I could be wrong, but that's how I saw it. That group out front did slow to allow the crash victims to recover. They were fanned out all over the road. The Italian commentator made mention of this.

It's not a huge deal, but I think the LPR Brakes/Salbutamol squadra took advantage of the crash.

Yes, because it's super classy to be a sprinter and sit on a wheel until the last 200m.

As much as i enjoy the sprint finishes, sprinters are wheel suckers, and i don't like them.

Tyler did one heck of a ride today! His rear derailleur cable got ripped out in the big crash in the end. He was stuck in one gear!

So sprint finishes should be banned like Boonen on a bender?

I like mountain finishes also, but there certainly is much entertainment in a heated sprint finish.

No don't ban them, i like the sprint finishes and they're a symptom of team tactics so they have to stay...

I just don't think sprinters themselves. They sit in all day, and only see wind in the last 200m. If we're talking about being classy riders, or riders with panache i don't think they are, or have any.

Team slipstream site reporting broken ribs for Vandevelde. Also a "sprain" to his lower back.

They are blessed/cursed with more fast-twitch muscles relative to slow-twitch. They really have no choice but to suck wheel.

And don't you consider this (McQuen) classy?

'cuz it's just that easy

sprinters are indeed very classy bike racers, they put themselves into position to win day after day after day. much easier said and *****ed about than done.

anyway, I'm done with this assinine argument.
