A classic WR-type move for the win...
Surprised WR himself hasn't posted this. Time it right, hit it hard and you never know what might happen:

Ah I missed that, and I knew it was his teammate so I was surprised it wasn't posted (at least where I looked anyway - I clearly don't read everything...)

Sol Frost is a stud. Ex pro who did some time in Belgium. Super nice guy and is still a competitive P/1 while having a family and owning his own shop. Austin Bikes is the shop, I highly recommend it.

Yep, he's awesome. Teammate from last year though -- I'm El Diablo Rojo and RacerEx's teammate now
Yeah, I did get that vid in the training status thread yesterday.

Here's a classic vid of Sol winning the King of Jester TT. This hill averages 17% and is at almost 20% when Sol comes into frame. His time that day was 2:21, IIRC. My best time on Jester is 2:53.
He's an AWC beast, but he does great in TTs too. Literally attacks as much as RacerEx. You can anticipate either of them being on their own after the first mile.

Wow he's a beast, attacks right off the front as if to say, I will let you all know I am gonna attack and there is nothing you can do about it!

Make sure you do her sister too: Beauford, on the back side of the same hill. Steeper, but variable, and unfortunately, a little shorter distance, since there's a bit of a climb to get to the start of it.
A friend of mine grew up in the Jester 'hood, and he said that the school bus route had to go up Jester and down Beauford, because the buses couldn't get up Beauford.
One day a substitute bus driver reversed that part of the route. The bus stalled about 1/4 of the way up Beauford, but couldn't back down it because... well, you'll see. They had to send another bus up the other side and back down it to get the kids. A couple of them fell when they stepped out of the first bus.
Then, reward yourself with a descent of Beauford. Don't touch your front wheel with your fingers when you get to the bottom, or you'll leave a layer of skin on it.

WR turned me onto both Jester and Beauford and, in my opinion, Beauford is tougher...well, at least it was for me...with Jester, there is never any doubt you'll get to the top...with Beauford, there was a moment or two where I thought I was going to click out of my pedals -- but, then I would have tumbled backward down the street!!! Climb Beauford, you'll like it...you may never want to do it again, but, you'll like it!!!

One of my friends had a water bottle bounce out of its cage descending Beauford (textured surface). He got on the brakes as hard as he could to stop, and it still took him 150 feet. When he finally stopped, the bottle came sailing past him and kept going.
