first team kit etiquitte
Hi
So I picked up my first team kit today but I haven't ridden with the team yet. Tomorrow I will be doing my first ride with them. Should I wear the kit to my first ride or no? What is proper?
Cheers
Rob

Of course - wear it. They're not going to think you're posing, you'll be letting them know you're serious and merely in need of... (introductions?)

Thanks. Didn't know if there was an unwritten code like with music clothing. You never wear the shirt of the band you are going to see.
Cheers

Wear it, and, if possible, get another setup if you like the stuff...

if your team has sponsors then they will expect that team members will wear the kit often and around town. That is part of the appeal of paying to have your business name on the kit.

I try to make sure my kit is as dirty and smelly as possible for races. Hopefully that will dissuade anyone from riding behind me. The verdict is still out on how successful this is.
Also... wear your team kit as much as possible. Ride past some of your sponsors stores/shops every once in a while. If they see their name and logo being displayed often, they may be more likely to renew sponsorship next year. Your team kit = advertising.

I used to do a group ride on Tuesdays where one of the attendees was on team lsv/kelly, and always had his stank on. We called him smelly kelly. the battle for wheels was very aggressive just to keep off of smelly kelly's.

the odor of BO is only marginally worse than those racers who choose to douse themselves in department store cologne moments before the race.
