Man, that's brutal.
But you get the drift. You have to wonder if it would have been warmer and fuzzier had Alberto not made those two perfunctory and rather pointless displays in the mountains, particularly the one that gapped Kloden. But I think Contador has a point. Lance's ego appears to have been the wedge here for sure.
That being said, F'em all.

Characterizing that as a 'translation' is like calling me a 'bicycle racer'.

The entire hot dog is fail. Needs RO's slaw, chili and onions.
Back on topic.
I really dig Hincapie. I have his poster on my wall:
Right next to my Jonas Brothers poster from Teen Beat. I mean Taylor Swift.

Dude was another sort of rider before cancer.
Before and after pictures should tell you that much pretty readily.

I said to myself when I watched his lead out move in Paris, "there's no way his collarbone could be broken",. Wrong! Watch the video he was out of his seat rocking the bike and hammering the pedals. Unless the gave him a nerve block that is one tough dude.

Some more AC-LA controversy (in spanish):
https://www.as.com/ciclismo/articulo/...asdaicic_4/Tes
My translation, with mindundi's corrections:
Benjamin Noval. Contador wanted Noval on the team, but was denied this request. "Bruyenal has created a very bad atmosphere in Astana since Armstrong arrived," said Bejamin.
The Press. Bruyneel only accompanied contador to the press conference during the departure from Monaco. Afterwards he was not at [Contador's] side in the days to come, nor at the final press conference. [Bruyneel's] argument is that he did not want his presence to detract from Contador's victory and shift the focus of the questions to Armstrong.
Abanico.
Echelon. Armstrong became a fan during the third stage. Zubeldia and Popovych, following Bruyneel's orders, helped Armstrong, despite Contador being in the second group in the back. Contador lost 41 seconds
Without hotels. Contador and Jacinto Vidarte, Alberto's PR guy, could not stay in some of Astana's team hotels because the rooms were taken by Armstrong's friends.
Always in the bus. Contador traveled to the team hotels in the team bus. Armstrong had a private car.
Champagne. Armstrong decided when the team would celebrate the victories, for example the day of the team time trial. When Contador won the Tour and became the yellow jersey atop Verbier (15th stage), a celebration was not considered necessary.
Criticisms on Twitter. Contador attacked on the Columbiere (17th stage) and dropped Kloden. Despite apologizing to Kloden at the finish, Contador received criticisms over Twitter. Leipheimer wrote, "If Kloden lost the podium by two minutes, we know why". And Armstrong: "I prefer to bite my tongue".
Without a car in Annecy. Contador left the hotel for the Annecy ITT in his brother's car. The team did not have enough cars: one went to the stage and others were given to guests of Armstrong. On the day of the Ventoux stage it happened again: Contador left the stage with Fran and Jacinto because the team cars had already left.
Nuevo equipo.
New team. Armstrong announced the formation of a new team, one that excluded Contador, coincidentally during the final (deciding) week of the tour. He formed more divisions in Astana, announcing names of riders who would join the Texan.
Contrarreloj.
Time Trial. Bruyneel chose to follow Armstrong in the ITT. Two other team directors (Gallopin and Ekimov) went with the team leader [Contador]. During the 15th kilometer of the TT, Contador's race radio broke and Contador was unable to receive further time checks.
Badana.
Chamois. Contador suffered serious saddle sores with his chamois. ok the rest of this was kind of gross and totally off topic so i didn't bother translating it.

I actually read threads like these when I'm in need of some civil and sophisticated discourse. And if you don't believe that, you should spend some time on the youth soccer forum I follow.

As usual the truth probably lies somewhere in-between. And regardless, love him or hate him, Lance's comeback makes the sport 100% more interesting in every way. This is too much fun boys. And just in time, the Mets are going friggin nowhere this year.

I can only imagine ... nothing brings out the worst in adults like youth sports.
