That's what I listen to on all of my rides...for really hard intervals I do music, but the rest of the time it's all NPR.

Now I feel better about listening to Josh Groban holiday music when putting in relatively easy effort.

In all seriousness, when I do really hard intervals the only thing that I am hearing is the internal dialogue between my Yin and Yang: "Stop now" "Keep going, you weakling." "I'm going to die." "It is a good day to die." etc. It really wouldn't matter what is playing on a freakin' iPod.

Today's was Car Talk, Wait Wait, the Sunday Puzzle, Planet Money, and the News From Lake Woebegone (because it gives me real insight into my wife's people).

(Sidebar: I helped Tom with some statistical analysis that was for his dissertation.)

90' on the trainer tonight. I would have gone longer, but, as time went on, I became less comfortable in the saddle. This is not an issue when I am out on the road; and I have not adjusted my saddle. What's up with that? Boredom was not an issue. Were it not for the discomfort in the saddle, I would have kept going.

Edit: I was referring to Tom Magliozzi (one of the car talk brothers), not Tom Ashbrook!!!

Went to do a new group ride, couldn't find the start in time, but was OK cause I got hungry and came back home to eat.

Commute today for 116 total. I think my FTP may be set too high but it's really the overall trend I'm after anyway.

CTL up to 69.4, the last time it was this high was July!

45 min on the spin bike at the gym after a good lifting session yesterday.

Alternated between 95 and 125 rpm for 2:30 each. Plan was to spin out some soreness and loosen up for a stretch but I sweated quite a bit so apparently I got a workout.

2-2.5 hr Z2 tommorow in the rain.

got cock blocked on weather, tried to wait for it to burn off, and waited so long I was running short on time before I have to go to the office. So I ran.

5.25 miles, 37:07.

That's a pretty solid run kensuf. I've been running 1-2 times per week for the last couple months and have been enjoying it. I'm almost as fast* as I was 4 years ago when I ran a lot more, I guess those adaptations stick around pretty well.

*Not that I was ever a good runner (flat-footed) my 10,000m PB is 43min ... and I can't go long either, longest run ever was 25km.

3 hours of riding in the breeze. Wind speeds of mid-20's mph with gusts to mid-30's mph.

Tomorrow's plan is for an easy 1.5 to 2 hour spin and Friday is a one way to the coast (about 4.5 hours). The family will meet me out there with fresh clothes.

Watched the weather radar all morning and went out when I thought there was a hole. I got an 1:20 into the ride and got hit with a serious torrential downpour for a good 20 minutes. It rained so hard that my bike was actually cleaner when I got home then when I left.

1:30 today during showers at the end of the storm. I must have taken on/off my jacket like 10 times. Some of the flooding in the Lake Discovery/Lake San Marcos area was quite impressive.

2hr tommorow and that's gonna cap off my rest/holiday week minus another small ride on sunday. Looking forward to riding big again next week.

80' on the trainer. Still feeling a little uncomfortable in the saddle after the 60' mark. In general, I don't feel as comfortable on my bike when I'm riding on the trainer versus on the road. (??)
