Gym today. I'm hoping that by the time I get my squat up to 125lbs my weight will meet it there...

I was determined today to test out my Under Armour Heatgear skull cap. It works. Although, I only went 1:21. Still, it was colder out today than I could have imagined myself tolerating. It probably didn't hurt that I also wore ski goggles, my old school/early-1990s Pearlizumi entrant tights (rather than leg warmers) and a neck gator (which I pulled up over my mouth and cheeks). Bike needs a good cleaning!

1 hour. 842 kjoules. windy. cleaned the bike a little (OK, just the drive train). Ready to play tomorrow, my understanding is the previously local domestic pro's going to come rip our legs off.

Last day of my rest week. Went out for 1:40 of mostly easy ZII with a few openers. Tomorrow I'll be doing a nice long 50 minute climb with the SDBC 3/4/5 team. Should be good motivation for a threshold test.

My legs were sore the other day. Not from riding, but from walking about 1.5-2 miles in this stupid plastic boot..

I'm surprised it hasn't fallen apart yet, I don't think it's made for this kind of usage.

Anyway it felt good to have sore legs again, even if it was for the wrong reason. Soon (well in a month or so) it'll be for all the right reasons!

1hr35' on the trainer, 1031Kj. 1hr tempo with 12x20" 53-13 seated sprints at full out. The world went dark on me for a bit during #11.

Thin Phil is my guess. I'm assuming that Bobby S won't be there. And Shawn G has been around all the time, so it can't be him. Then again it could be Gutt.

As for me, I'll pay my $10 and pin on a number, but I ain't going to be doing anything much else. Just consider it my donation to the local racing scene.

Ugh, I feel for you. I'm going to attempt to get out for 2-3 hours today. I'm already sick of the trainer and winter isn't even half way through yet.

I was going to ride outside again today, but, when the kitchen is cold, that means it is pretty darn cold out. At least the snow was mushy in the sunshine yesterday; today, I don't think that's going to happen. Staying safe (and warmer) indoors.

GA -- How is that ninja head & face cover? Yesterday, I rode with a fleece neck-gator pulled up and over my face, and I didn't mind breathing through it, which surprised me. Condensation was not too bad. I suspect that the UArmour material would be better.

Success! I ended up sporting two pairs of shorts to cushion my tender ass but I got the workout done.

Really looking forward to it not snowing some weekend.

is ftp accurate? i'm no expert but 700 TSS on 10.5 hrs. seems very high (doubly so if you did rest week intensity)

That post somewhere with the pdf about pushing it (by Hunter Allen I think) was in the back of my mind as I rode the trainer and passed 1 hour, then 2 hours and finally 3 hours; finishing at 3:02. Although, I think it was more mentally taxing than physically taxing as it went along. On the road, no problemo riding for 3 hours. On the trainer, that's my record and it felt like a long time. I am curious to see how my legs will feel tomorrow; right now, they feel ok. I pedaled at base pace.

Per a post by cdr, I got off the bike for a couple of minutes at 1 hour (had a yogurt and trailmix bar) and at 1:54 (for a banana). I was targeting 2:15-2:30, but, when I got there, I wanted to push it a bit more and go for 3 hours because I doubted that I would ever again get close to 3 hours; and I wanted to have that life experience while I was in the neighborhood.
