Yes, I know. It hurts

And ice. LOTS of ice. This hurts more.

And rest. This hurts the most.

Once that is done you are months behind in fitness. (I'm old. These things take a lot longer than when I was young.)

I am starting to see pale glimmers of form, but it is still along way off. I hope that I can get back there. Good thing that Ocala is in June.

The second "this" is the stuff to do BEFORE the injury. It involves the orange thing above.

Those roller thingies are awesome... I don't own one but every time I'm at the gym I'm using it after working out.

Another easy recovery day ahead of a harder week. 70 minutes at 206w with a HR of 118 or something

Well been absent for a couple of weeks and thought I would should post something up in the thread I enjoy the most.
It is with great regret that I am retiring from the sport I love so much. Family issues, among others, are forcing my hand on this and keeping the peace and family together are my primary goals.
I am going to try and keep in contact as much as possible, many of you have pm'd me looking for help and I am always more that willing to offer some thoughts and direction to anyone who asks, please feel free to shoot me a pm whenever...
Train hard, race hard and have fun.

I hope this is a put-on and RKWAKI being extremely sarcastic.

If not, I hope everything works out. There's always masters down the road.

Good luck.

I wish I was being sarcastic but unfortunately I am not.
Spoke to my team last week and the door is always open with them (as is my big 'ol pile of gear that hadn't been sent to me yet).
I wish it were different as this year I was coming on strong to be a freight train but family first...
And without going into detail and if I may offer a little bit of advice to all those out there, remember the things that really matter - family, love and life outside of the sport which we all feel so passionately about.

rkwaki, the sport will still be there for you if you decide to return.

Best wishes to you and your family. I hope you can find a compromise.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, in time, you'll be able to re-ignite and find some balance that includes racing. I took 7 years off and I'm loving it now.

Today (Tuesday) is the start of Base 3 rest. Whew, much needed. Last night's hammer ride was the cap to a massive week, just over 13 hours, the highest of the high according to the training plan. My weight hit a new low this morning @ 132 lbs = rest needed!. Really excited to start the build next week, woot! I might switch over to Carmichael's TCTS for the build.

Booo...

I was hoping to run into you (not literally) at some races this summer. Best wishes on the family issues. I understand and those are most important. You could always train a lot less and come down to my level. Oh wait...you could probably train a lot less and still be above my level .

50 minute of endurance on the trainer this morning. Yesterdays 60 min TT hurt more than I thought. Sad really. So I moved one of my easier workouts for the week to today. It's all good

Hang in there, rkwaki. Sometimes things seem pretty dark. Just try to focus on the light.
If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. Just PM me. I've been to hell and back with family matters. Not saying I'm an expert, but an understanding ear can be helpful.

this morning was 2 hours on the trainer.. almost light enough to get outdoors... well not really but I keep telling myself that

did 35 mins warming up zones 1-3
then 2 sets of 4 power sprints.. last set I did 5 sprints .. 5 mins of recovery between sprints and 10 mins between sets
then cool down

I'm not sure I'll continue the sprints since i do ont have a power meter but I did find them pretty fun trying to get on top of the gear and hit 130rpms + in 10 seconds

I was sprint in 50 X 14

the only real issue is my form was not the greatest at first and I was rollicking the trainer..... In' sure the people living under my gf's apt loved that at 6am... so I concentrated more on my form than cranking it up
