Taking off for a work trip later today, so I've spent the last few days digging a hole so I can recover while traveling. I did the Coggan/Allen VO2m intervals with my new and improved ftp number.
5' - 114%
5 1/2' - 115%
6' - 114%
6 1/2' - 111%
7' - 109%
3' - 104%
3' - 114%
I think we can safely say the hole has been dug. That 7 minute interval (after already putting in 23 minutes of work time) was a *****! The last 2 3 minute intervals were supposed to be about ftp, so on the first on I did what they said. On the second one, I went pretty much balls out. I'm really feeling like the ftp work that I've put in for the last several months is really paying off in terms of longer run power and recovery.

Apparently my unplanned rest day was just what the doctor ordered. Endurance this morning with 5 corner sprints thrown in. Broke 1000 watts for the first and second time ever (999 on another one). Legs feel really, really good. Hope to do well in tonight's race. Just need to not do anything stupid and keep good position. Last chance to get a top 10 this year!

2:50 with 3x15's. First time since before nationals that I've been able to knock them out like they're supposed to be and not blown sky high. Part of it was it seemed slightly cooler and I think I was a. It more careful with my pacing and keeping it down right at the beginning. Probably have close to 3:30 though for the day as I rode to class twice.

cx practice today. 6 30 second starting sprints (unclipped foot on the ground). then 20 min at z4/z5 w/ 5 dismounts and 5 sprints right after each remount. my legs were hurting on the way over to the polo fields. high winds on low psi cyclocross tires.

Totally spent from a training crit yesterday. Spending a couple months at pure base and no intensity was probably a bad idea, should have added in a little intensity. Only 280w NP for 40mins in the training crit and it has left me shelled today. Commuted to and from work at z2 (1.5hrs) and it felt like I was dying!
Rest tomorrow though, so hopefully will adapt a bit more before the training crit next week as I bring in intensity back into my plan.

3 hours, 3900 feet of climbing, and trainingpeaks only gave me a tss of 122. That doesn't seem right, but whatever. I am damned tired, I'll tell you that.

Good time and conversation! I managed 202ap for the first 34', at which point I was dropped; about a minute later, I decided to TT the rest of the way, and did 194ap for 24'. Botto was looking good, off the front for quite a bit. After I went otb, trying to catch cdr helped me keep pushing. I was closing, and then he would get on some wheels!!! Then he pulled off the course; I was closing I tell ya, I was closing!!!
By the way, great job by all on BF; keep turning those cranks!!!!

Group ride last night. I hung in, it hurt. Seemed like cars were pulling out in front of us around every corner.
On the plus side, after the ride as was at 185 lbs and this morning at 188. Weight is steadily coming off...until spawn2 arrives in a week and a half.

I only hit 36.5 when I sprinted before I stopped. Extremely pitiful.
Oh and my legs are really sore today. I think the two efforts off the front, the sprint, and one big pull for that chase group lapping me, they all added up.

That's too bad. I was counting on it. Thanks for the heads-up.
