i started training today. hey ken (or anyone else), do you lower the intensity when you do 3x20s as opposed to 2x20s?

20' of 1-leg intervals, 10' of spinups.
2 hrs total. Legs are still sluggish from this weekend.

I'm planning this ride for Thursday and probably do half of it on friday.

I will be sore.

That sounds like an awesome ride.

Today 2x20's, but not above threshold. More like "Hard" SST for each. Then some lower end of Zone 2 to limp home.

PB on 1 minute power this morning 774W, bringing my 1 minute power up to say hello to my 5 min and FTP power into the "Cat 3" range on the power profile chart @8.59W/kg.

Powered up a great climb which is just the right length for a 1 minute number.

Unfortunately, I have now managed to wreck my fork or headset or something - massive flex and creak coming from the headset, took it into get it checked out. Will only find out tomorrow the verdict.

Day off, but, it was tough given that the temps hit, or were near, the 60s.

45 minutes (well 51) of zone 1 goodness spinning home in the 39x21. I had a nice present waiting at the door for me.

Did some 1 legged drills on the trainer for the first time. I found that with RPE, my left leg was producing 10 watts more than the right.

Did my highest 1m power today since like July. I wasn't really trying for it, I was just following wheels + a sprint.

Thankfully, just problems with my headset. Took the fork out and the headset apart (for the first time) and got it all back together again - no more flex or creak...

I took time off during the summer due to injury (self inflicted time off, stupid knee), so now I'm getting my AT work in. I'm up to 2x25 AT with 15 rest between, 2 hour total ride time. That's for T-giving (I'm bringing the trainer and locking myself up for 2 hours) and Sunday. Last week's 2x20 was tough, I'm not looking forward to it!

2 hours this morning before breakfast. I believe I've acclimated reasonably well to temperatures in the low 40s. I hope the same happens when temps in the 30s become typical.

It's been in the 20's out here. It's not a lot different than the 30's. I use better gloves and a skull cap under the helmet. You get used to it.

Went to the gym last night. I raised the weights by 10% and dropped the reps to 15/set. I am slowly and carefully working my way into a power workout. I have to be careful with my knees, back, and right shoulder.

around my parts, chicago, a lot depends on the wind. for me 40 is fine, almost nice. 30 is doable. 20 is downright cold. must be done though. later.

It is 79 F, calm winds, perfect blue sky, and no appointments to keep this afternoon.

Time for a ride.

rest week.

just finished my 1st 3 week block of the training year, 12 hrs.->13hrs->14hrs. everything at AP in L2/L3. 1st week was rough, 2nd I was really fatigued, 3rd I got stronger as the week progressed and had my best ride during a 4 hrs. sunday slog. i even felt a little snappy.

workwise i've gotta cram 7 days of productivity into 3 this week, so the scheduled rest week is right on, uh, schedule.

As Zsa Zsa would say, for you dahlink, of course. Independent of that, I'm declaring that it counts as I did the same for 2 hours this morning (after my 2 hour ride).
