Two hours on the trainer, with 3 x 10' tempo alternating 70 and 100 rpm every minute. I suck at holding a steady power.

I've had more than one person ask me if there's a women's TDF and, if so, was I hoping to do it some day.

I don't think I'll be able to ride outside for at least a week. The shoulders are almost non-existent and when they're visible they are coasted with 1/2" of sand.

1hr Z1 on the trainer.

She was not amused, but I was. Laughing at her probably wasn't the best idea.

She's also cute. She also thought I was older than she was, aka 25 or so. I laughed when she said this and told her to guess how old I was. When she finally got down to 21 her jaw was on the floor. I still paid for lunch because I had intended to. And because she's an intern and my older coworkers take me out for lunch/dinner/drinks all the time.

Oh, my feet are still cold.

Also, I will look for those booties this weekend. You were supposed to pm and remind me!

And that has as much to do with my cycling "career" as the men's version does with yours.

Easy one hour ride on the trainer today, boring as always.

That's sorta what I was thinking. I don't have enough HTFU to get outside next week. May have to do something else for that workout.

Do single leg intervals. I'm convinced these are the reason that my sprint numbers are up from my peak form last year. I've been doing a bunch of single leg intervals, pyramid it with 30" - 45" - 60" - 90" - 60" - 45" - 30" with 2-3 minutes rest in between. And go left right left right etc, so 30" left, 30" right, 45" left - so on.

I don't do single-leg.

I have been doing plyometrics this winter in the hopes that I will decrease my sprint-o-suck quotient.

instead of a form sprint, consider doing a set of "spin ups" where in an ez gear you do a 30 second seated acceleration, broken down in 10 second increments where the last 10 seconds are as fast as you can make your legs go. i like these for the trainer more than something that to do properly requires pulling up on handlebars and rocking the bike (such as form sprint/sprint/power start/jumps)

Yeah...I've been doing one legged drills. Those aren't on the menu that week so that would be a good substitution. Oh...and I was wrong. The form sprints are scheduled for 1/24 (my Birthday). Maybe I'll get a good Birthday gift and can get outside that day!

Same as above post. Been doing these too. And in combo w/ one legged drills. This would also be a good substitute. Thanks to both of you!

You can do trainer standing sprints in a medium-large gear on the drops by shifting your weight a little farther back than you normally would, keeping your upper body quiet, and concentrating on spinning rather than pulling on the bars. It's not a form sprint, but it is a sprint, and you'll get a good burn out of it.

Are single leg drills useful for someone who has 50-50 L-R power distribution?

Specialized BG fit today, pretty excited about it! Partly to have a video of myself riding, partly to impress the fit guy with my physio knowledge.

*I* think so. It's more about teaching pedal efficiency than evening out a discrepancy. Each leg has to learn the full 360deg rather than just the downward 180deg.
You'll understand when you can't get your foot over the 12oclock position.

2x20s today. 353W and 331W. I was surprised to drop power on the 2nd one, as I ended the first one feeling pretty good. I'll bet my 20' power is close to 370W right now.

No training yesterday, doubtful today, and none tomorrow. Mucho snowboarding after that though. Then real training begins when I get back.

Meh, I'm heavier than you waify types. I've also heard that I'm way too easy to draft. It's looking like an improvement this year though -- somehow in spite of all the travel.

This looks like a good way to do single leg drills, gonna give them a go.
