Went to My Pain Cave

Started my ride today with the intention of doing high endurance low tempo ride working on raising my cadence. 10 minutes in I realized I was riding 20 watts or so above my previous 1 hour power. I was feeling good, so I had a change of plans. One hour interval. I dug deep in the pain cave, and was slamdancing on the pedals. I was dying to find a Fred.

Being serious I ended up 15 watts higher than my previous 1 hour power. I am surprised since I did sprints yesterday.

Typical sprint days do not wear you out for the next day, if anything it opened you up and enabled a better ride. Nice work.

*typical is the key.

Don't try 1 hour in zone 3 with 20 sprints mixed-in..... that won't make you feel too good the next day!

Well that wouldn't be a neuromuscular sprint workout then, more like a session to develop anaerobic capacity. Sounds fun.

+1 i find this to be very true as well.

I actually used to do my NP days in the midst of a nice 1-1.5 hour z1 ride with my girlfriend. She loved riding with me while knowing that I wasnt "holding back" as I was still getting a good workout in. She also likes watching me sprint ;-)... y'all know what I mean...

Congrats, too!!!

I love days like that.
