Sorry dog, but the date was predicated by Sub's travel plans. You could always get some guys in Georgia to organize a meet-up for the same date :).

BTW -- BIO races are going back on the calendar for January 16 and 23rd. I'll also probably go down south for the January 2nd crit.

I might come down, mostly depends if my Dad comes into town for Thanksgiving or not.

I was going to ask if you would mind if some dork from Tampa joined in, but didn't realize that was Turkey Day weekend at first- I'll be in Atl at my brother's.

Some dork from NC is riding so it wouldn't matter anyway. But if things change join us. (Not your dorkiness. The going to Atl thing. Keep being a dork so I won't feel so alone)

Actually I'm very jealous.

A couple of years ago I went up to western North Carolina over Thanksgiving and got in some serious climbing. The climbing part was fine, but the descending was sketchy because they had a recent snow at the higher elevations and all the roads were heavily sanded. It made every switchback an adventure.

Also there were some long descents in mid-40 F temps and even though I was wearing leg warmers, base layer, old-school long sleeved wool jersey, and wind shell I was FREEZING. While climbing I wanted to take everything off.:roflmao2:

Mt Mitchell last year. We started at the bottom in sunny mid 60s. When we got to the top it was cold, drizzling, and foggy. I think in the low 40s.

It does that in those parts.;)

I've some riding in the Smokies and a lot of hiking. It seems like it is always raining or foggy or both. When you get a clear day it is usually frightfully cold and windy.

Dude, I've had that experience on Mitchell in July.

But I love riding in that neck of the woods. One of my favorite rides is just a leisurely stroll from Little Switzerland to the top of Mitchell, and then passing SUV's on the descent.

I'm gonna keep bumping this thread so that everybody shows up and maybe we can get some of Mrs. Sub's cooking for an after ride treat!

I hope more than Sub and Ken show up or else I will get dropped like a hot rock in a rock dropping contest the first time up Sugarloaf.

I'm gonna keep bumping this until I get a whole bunch of Florida BF members to commit. Hey, tell the SO to Xmas shop at the Orlando outlet malls while you ride. Sounds like a win-win to me.;)

I will try and make it. I'll be in Eustis for T'giving day, so I'd have to convince my wife to stay over..

Plus, I'm not sure which fist (or both) my wife would hit me with if I suggested driving to FL to go on a bike ride. Not that she would object going to FL. Just not with me with a bike.

But it does sound like fun. At least when I would meet y'all at the start of the ride and maybe for the first 5 minutes before I got dropped! :D

I'll sweeten the pot by sending down 10 lbs of Lexington Barbecue with sub.

Sort of like trying a porkchop around his neck to get the dogs to play with him.

I'll need more than Lexington BBQ to have them play with me. But that stuff sure is good.

I've only been once. But it was real good.
We used to have pretty good BBQ here in Shelby - my work location.

You do remember that this is the day after Thanksgiving?
