Racing trikes/ rack or no rack?
Rich in Peoria's post of people "racing" tricycles got me looking at making a purchase. Being kind of a TT nut, I noticed that second place in the latest comp (tandem) used a wire rack:
While first place didn't:
Given that first place had two (sort of) male racers on board yet second was mixed and still finished a close second, I'm wondering if the rack had some beneficial effect on aerodynamics.
Discuss.

What about the "aero" racing cap that the winners were sporting on their lead rider? Aero headgear is VERY important.

I believe his blog post was something to the effect of "to go fast, you must have a facial expression that looks as if the wind is ripping at your bloody mug. Look fast, go fast."

Isn't racing trikes kind of like arguing over the internet, or the Special Olympics? Even if you win...

Even if you win, you're still racing a friggin' trike...
Maybe they should put suspension on the rear wheels so that they can turn better.

I'm thinking a tandem trike with 2 strong dudes would be a cool motorpacing platform. You can follow close between the 2 rear wheels, get max draft.
