As others have pointed out there's no Official way to derive an FTP estimate from a 15' effort

But if your AWC falls in the average range I bet the estimate of 345w is about right. Just to add another data point, my best 18' TT effort this past season was 361, sort of in line with the numbers you gave, and my FTP was set at 345 at the time.

If you do a proper test come back and tell us the real number. Although the BF FTP By Consensus/Committee test is completely unscientific, I wouldn't be surprised if it was pretty close

Thanks, I'll follow up in a few weeks after some proper testing.

If you want to symbolically say approximately use the ~ symbol. +/- requires more keystrokes and means something else entirely (the standard error of the measurement).

Okay, so the range is tilde 40. Happy?

do this. I was trying to work it all out and to be honest, couldn't really get my head around it all. It's just not my thing.

I went with a well respected coach/trainer that uses power and tested on his wind trainer etc at his house, I know everything was correct and I then had no worries at all about it.

Set the numbers, train by the numbers and then re-test.

and I'm an inch taller and a tiny bit heavier than you. My power to weight is ok, but outright power is pretty high.
