I guess some of those aspects are what makes it appealing in a sick way.

I may do the 40+ in 2011. Too expensive, but I have a hunch that I intend to follow.

If I did it I'd do the twos. Every year roger rides away on the first hill.

screw Roger and Fred Thomas and Jonny Bold. I'll be racing for "best of the actual pack". Those other guys should be forced to ride with the 1s.

I was considering it but it is too far a drive for me and I am not a cold weather racer so I am going to pass.

I'm not terribly troubled about racing with twos, grump. Moot point since I'm not doing the race anyway.

I'm glad I did the race once, but I'm not sure I'd do it again. Maybe one day if I'm actually good and have a decent shot at doing well. But it's not a fun race to go and get shelled at.

I can drive 25 hours to do a one day, 64 mile race, or 8 hours to do a two day 120 mile stage race with some epic climbs.

While this would seem like a no brainer...

I agree with you Racer - plus it's too damn cold up there.

I am kind of on the fence for this one. If I do it I will do the 3 race, since its a 4hr drive for me to probably get shelled in the 30+, which would be my other option.

Back to PJ's question, I was going to run Vittoria 24 Pave clinchers on a set of HED Belgiums. I am too lazy to glue a set of tubulars for one race, and I only have 404's tubulars, and the obvious potential for high winds may make them less than ideal. If I was not running the wider rims I would run 25's.

I'd run 404s and big meaty tubulars. Brand new tires.

You don't need to run 25's. At least last year, the course wasn't in that bad shape.

If it rains the day before, I dunno. Well, puddles and 20 degree temps would be just friggin awful.

Last year my field went off before 9am @ 25 degrees. There was no way to dress for the race; heavily dressed to start, I was sweating to death hour two.

Weather is the deciding factor to enjoying the race.

What's better for BKill clinchers or tubulars?
