Does the idea of starting the Giro in the US sound ludicrous to you, botto?

It does to me.

I have to disagree Botto. That is not a smart idea. Very wasteful and not very practical. But that's my take.

Well, a couple of large Italian cities happen to be in the states, so it makes some sense.

Having a leg of the Tour de France in London this year was considered an unqualified success so I think the Giro de Italia people are wanting to duplicate the effort. Whether they can handle the logistics involved or not, I don't know, or any of the other problems involved, but it is under serious consideration to have at least one leg of the race in D.C. If they do, I'll be there cheering and screaming on the side lines.

The TOC has edged into the Giro's territory, now the organizers of the Giro are returning the favor. I'm sure those sponsors concerned with US exposure are pressing their teams to compete in the TOC. This might be a way to bring those riders back into the fold.

I like the lawyer's name in that story. It's like Marcus Sommers all grown up. "Don't call me Marcus. I go by Mark now."

Glad to see he did well after his racing career was cut short.
