This is awesome. And the Madison is crazy.

Is this a 30 or 60 minute Madison?

It's crazy a sport that was so popular in the US is barely on the radar here now.

wasn't the Madison invented (or at least originated) in New York?

Madison Square Garden. Called the American overseas.

Reading on wikipedia that the first six day races were 24 hours a day to see who could ride the farthest in 6 days. Guys went over 2k miles. Nuts. The Madison was devised to get around a rule that riders could only ride 12 hours a day.

I know nothing about track racing, first time watching live action. Sorry for offending your sensibilities.

When there's a six day in my region I'll go to it.

Until then, the Internet is the closest I can get.

nobody claimed the two experiences were at all comparable.

How's this work exactly? The rider yells at the motorpacing fat guy to go faster?

i've been wondering the same thing -- i see a lot of over-the-shoulder glances from the derny drivers, but couldn't see any obvious instigation on the part of the skoda rider.
