Raleigh Grand Sport vs Felt Z 90 - I am new to Road Cycling!

Hey,

I am just getting started with road cycling and obviously don't want to spend too much money until I get a feel for it and decide if I like it. I am training for a sprint Triathlon in August.

I found 2 bikes at local bike shops that I am interested in. Here are the details:

-Felt Z90 (I believe 2008) - 61 cm, About $590. It is new just an older model, Aluminum Frame with Carbon Fork
-Raleigh Grand Sport (2008 or 2009, It is white) - 62 cm, About $690, Aluminum Frame with Carbon Fork

I am open to either one. I am 6'4" and I am a big guy so I need something strong. I am not sure what Gears and brakes they have. Honestly, I don't know enough about the sport. They are just the stock models.

Any help would be appreciated. I measured around a 61cm. I am not sure which one would be better. They both sound good for what I am doing.

1) this belongs in the road cycling forum.
2) Check out these links for more info on both bikes (the only all white raleigh grand sport was the 2010, although the 08 is semi white):

3) go ride both, see which ones "feels" better. You are new to cycling, so it may be tough, but a test ride can reveal a lot.
4) judging by the components, I would go with the felt.

Still doesn't make it the right forum.

Good luck picking the bike though. The road forum will help you out.
