Pacebend Cat 3 report & An Important Announcement

PB Cat 3 Report (62.5mi):

Mile 0-26: Random attacks, hard riding, everyone being ansty, 20 people dropped
Mile 27: 2 guys go off front and get 20-30 second gap
Mile 30: I bridge solo, pull for 10 seconds, blow the two guys up, and we go back to the field
Mile 45: Three guys go off front, I cross a 10 second gap to get them, four more bridge, then noone wants to work, I get pissed.
Mile 50: 1 guy goes up the road, looks strong
Mile 54: I bridge a 30sec gap to the guy, pull for 10 seconds, then he blow up. I have a good gap, and my legs feel good despite two break attempts from earlier, so I go.
Mile 55-61: Riding at the limit, holding off the entire field
Mile 61.8: Gap is down to 10 seconds, one really strong rider bridges me and tows me for a bit.
200yd to go: The field is closing in, I heard whirring carbon wheels, I stand up and try to plow my way up the hill to hold them off, still in 1st.
50yd to go: I have a bike length or two ahead of the sprinters, just gotta hold it.
10yd to go: 5 people sneaking around me
Finish line: Get 6th, < a second out of 1st place. DOH!

That was by far the most adrenaline I've ever had at a race. I really thought I was going to solo for the win, but I just couldn't quite hold it. A couple seconds literally would have made the difference. Now an excuse for some race wheels?

So for the announcement: I now have all of my points for the Cat 2 upgrade. 1 season and three races later after starting from the bottom.

Wow that is amazing..nice rise to cat 2. Well I've got my cat 3 upgrade points but it looks like you'll have moved on before you can crush me as a 3.

TX, Nope, 28.

EDR, I'll be a 3 for at least two months more. I will be helping a couple teammates that need points for their 2 upgrade, and I don't want to cat up without them.

Sub, I just have good role models.

Well, we'll do what we can to minimize their point acquisition and keep you around then

Assuming I can get back on the road in 3 weeks. Maybe racing in 7 weeks?

Hey, look at that, the first week of my ban is over!

Thanks! Congrats on your win, on your birthday of all times...

And yes, AA said he felt good. I told him it must be those rotor rings, since he couldn't do that on his own.

I thought the important announcement was going to relate to an R Sys wheel.

Awesome Procrit. And to think, I saw it all at the start when you blew by me at Copperas Cove last year, asking me how far up the road to the pack. Awesome!
