I put a NESPRESSO machine on my wedding registry. Anyone have experience with this?

Also, had my morning cup of La Colombe coffee. My fav in NYC.

My sister has one, and it's actually pretty awesome. Very convenient and quick, and pretty tasty, although they do seem to run out of the little pods whenever I come to visit

And congrats on the wedding I just got domestic partnered last week, where the F is my fancy coffee machine?

I have a Flavia machine, which looks pretty similar. The styling of the Nespresso machines is a little nicer.

Very convenient since I usually only need to make 1 cup at a time. The coffee selection is pretty good too.

I have a middling addiction to my morning "energy" pills. I commute to work and can't make myself get up early enough to make coffee anymore.

But I can stop whenever I want to! I can!

I would love to. I even have a regular espresso machine at home, but I don't use it. It's so messy, my kitchen is small and I just don't have the time for it. Yes, I know these are excuses, but spending 15 minutes for a single espresso isn't worth my time in the morning. The Nespresso machine is small, the coffee is pretty good and it's clean + fast.

When I have a home large enough for a man room/garage, I'll invest in a nice espresso machine.

i hear you. in my current set up, my espresso machine & grinder are on the top of the drawers in my bedroom due to space constraint in the kitchen. the time is actually not too bad, 1.5 minute of warming up, priming the thing and waiting for another minute, ready to go in less than four minutes. the grinder is on while i wait for the espresso machine to warm up and finishes in about 30 seconds.

Probably. I think it's called "Hot Rox" or something to that effect. I resolve to ween off the caffeine a bit when the bottle is finished.

Caffeine is like poking your adrenal gland with a stick.

I feel better since I gave it up. I have no problem getting up at 4:30 to make breakfast before a ride. And there is decent decaf coffee that doesn't taste like carburetor cleaner now.

I make my coffee with a stovetop espresso maker. I think it's a Bilaetti or Fagor (who used to sponsor a pro team). It's not quite like real espresso from a good machine but it's as good as espresso from a typical home machine, and it's quick and easy and makes a whole cup's worth.

Nespresso's are great. I've done the pump espresso machines. Grinding my own beans, etc... it became quite a pita. Nespressos have different varietys - really more closely mimicing the roast intensities than actual "flavors". No mess at all. I've had mine for 3 years now and it been fanatastic.

Update:

Got the Nespresso machine already. Been using it for a few days now and I'm in love. Many will likely disagree, but the espresso is fantastic. Leaves that lovely residue in the glass and the flavor is great! Simple, fast and clean.

Our Krups coffee maker died. It was older than a lot of the guys here. I wanted to see if anyone cared to weigh in on a replacement. Thanks.

My wife wants this: Technovorm. Recommended by Cooks Illustratted.

I want this: Bunn. Similar to what we have at work.

I have that BUNN coffee maker. Its freaking awesome. Full pot in 3 minutes...

Double espresso in the morning and then tea in the evenings.

This is how I roll.

Looks fancy.
My french press is as simple as it gets, but works wonders.

I was running late for work today, so i stopped at 'bucks and got a iced latte. It was good and im not afraid to admit it.

George Howell, my coffee guru and master of the universe only sells two coffee makers; one of them is the Technivorm.
So it's good.

This one is pretty good, and quite a bit cheaper...
https://www.capresso.com/coffee-maker...am-therm.shtml

Don't forget the burr grinder (Capresso has one of the best cheap ones) and I
warmly suggest trying some Terroir coffee. No connection, other than addiction.
They are out of my fave brew, La Minita.

Got some Kaimeriga Kenyan from him that should show up manana that I am looking forward to trying.

I don't consider what they sell to be coffee.

Consider yourself outsnobbed.

Got that... but it's almost as old as the Krups so I'll probably be needing a replacement for that as well.

So we have a wet bar just off of our kitchen, we don't really use as such and want to turn it into a coffee/espresso bar, using the water hook up for the machine. Can anyone recommend a constant water feed espresso machine that doesn't cost a grand?
