What is really funny about all of this Philip Glass discussion is that just yesterday my 18 year old son was talking about this idea he had for a musical composition. It starts out with a very simple theme with a small number of instruments and each instrument plays a slowly mutating version of the original theme, but each instrument is evolving its theme independent of the others. After a short time the composition becomes totally chaotic and almost unlistenable, but eventually settles down into a much more elaborate but very melodic new theme.

It went to the same place that your fashion sense for neck ties went.

I got quite a few compliments on that italian tie on that gig. I doubt they were backhanded.

I always wear shirts with neck sizes too large because my neck expands when I play trombone.

I was heavier when I had the suit fitted though.

yeah, but since you had to be at least 5 to attend, they wouldn't have let you in.

Very cool.

By the way, in all fairness, all your postings on this thread going forward should include the disclaimer about you being a music pro. Just sayin'.
