Superdex, thanks for clearing that up. It actually makes a little bit of sense. I was thinking it was something on the sidewall.

The biggest aero factor on a wheelset is the tire profile hitting the wind.

The second biggest is the tire/rim seam.

Not sure how significant it is, but there were mechanics putting caulk-like material between the tire and rim before TTs in the Tour.
