Helmet Video: Sacramento Grand Prix Crash

I knew this race would be a crash fest, but like any bike racer, I assumed I wouldn't be involved.

Had planned to stay in the top 30 for the whole race, but got a bad start and the rest is history...

I saw you walking away with your bike over your shoulders. Bummer. Hope you're not too banged up.

So red jersey in upper right nicked wheel of guy in front of him, starting the right to left domino action? Interesting how "quiet" the crashed seemed from the helmet cam perspective. Good to hear you walked away relatively unscathed.

Ouch. After seeing people ride 8-10 wide on that straight away, I figured the crash would have happened in a corner. Seems like a course set up for some problems when you have that many starting.

Glad I missed it. Fabrice from webcor broke his femur and collar bone in a later crash.

good call on that.

irony is that i pulled out of Scotts Valley the night before with 2 laps to go because i thought riding blind on the back half of the course was dangerous.

Looking at the start list it just seemed like trouble. With all the people that actually want to race their bikes at scotts/winter/sac it was a poor pick to go to modesto for the weekend. small race, middle of nowhere and still got yahoo'd both days.

I knew it as soon as the video started, it's that slight squeeze of the course by the s/f.

sorry Steelrhoo... but you already know.. this is why we line up at the front....

Yahoo'd ugh.

justin williams single-handedly did what we've been unable to do collectively all year. he was on fire at scotts. i tried to suck his wheel to steal a prime and he went plaid while i was stuck at ridiculous speed (i know, dumb spaceballs reference)

i talked to him after Sac GP, asked him how he won. he said, "i came off the last corner 7th wheel, Yahoo train and some guys wanted to drag race, that was fine by me." nice kid, he said the legs just came good recently.
