It's been a sweet race so far. To my surprise, I'm rooting for Evans, he's been showing some real grit in this race.
i'd very much agree with you on your first point, but think that it would be rude for me to say anything more as that's really P&R

as for Evans, damn, it's over him. at least he'll get the second place prize he always gets, which in this case would be the maglia ciclamino. wtf was BMC thinking not giving him a good supporting cast? it looks like they brought a knife (though a very sharp one) to a gun fight...

nothing. there's a huge initial lag time as it's one user sending it to possibly 10 to 20. after those first ten get it, the speed really picks up. in nerd talk, this graph of speed of download to number of users (or time) is like a sigmoidal curve. fwiw, i usually download the thing around 8pm EST, and a 1 gb file finishes in less than an hour. the best (english language, eurovision) is available the following day

Do you mean the torrent file? Yeah, that's a bit of nothing. You need to open that up in a torrent application to actually get what you're looking for. I use one called Transmission. Just open the .torrent file with that and you're good to go.

This.

And once you get the file keep the application open so that others can get bits and pieces of the file from you for their downloads.

Yep, just gotta wait.

Torrents take little bits of info from many people. More people=faster download. The people you're getting data from are seeders. See if your app tells you how many seeders you have.

also make sure your port is open. There should be a "test" in one of the drop down menus. It'll tell you if the app can communicate with the world

Pretty cool watching how Nibali and Basso, two GC contenders, work together. I almost forgot what that looked like.

I was watching live on spanish TV and the commentators (heavily partisan in favor of Arroyo) were debating whether this was a good idea. Given how little help he got and how much time he wasted shouting and gesturing, and considering that he ended up on the front for almost all of the Aprica climb anyway, it seems like he would probably have been better off going it alone.

Basso, Nibali and Scarponi working together to hammer all the way to the line was poetry.
