John Stenner TT Colorado State Championships

Who's in?
Can anyone tell me about the roads for this race? I plotted the course on MapMyRide and it looks very flat. This is just not the area I go for local rides. I guess because the lack of scenery, flat roads and probably very narrow shoulders, however this should make a good TT area. And why is it a 38K and not a 40K?

I'm a 4 too. No chance of a podium with the freaks around here.

I'm sick. This is (was) a major race for me and I won't be there. I got 2nd in the 3's last year and really thought I had a chance at winning it this time... crap.

The course is mostly flat, but there are rollers. Depending on the wind speed/direction, you may be going 40+ at some times, but you shouldn't have to leave the big ring. It's longer than you think it is, so play it safe until the 2nd half. If you do find yourself going much faster than 30, make sure you save a little for when you have to double back. Take note of where the finish line is when you pass it, because it comes sooner than you think on the way back (at least that's how I felt.)

current forecast calls for about 76 degrees and minimal wind.

should be a good ride.

hope you feel better, brian, that sucks bigtime. thanks for the tips.

i'm on a road frame with clip ons. but i got the skinsuit, helmet, shoecovers, and i've spent a ton of time working on my aero fit, both getting it aero, and getting it strong. we'll see though. definitely gotta find a TT bike for next year.

yeah didnt end up hooking up w Ze. honestly it was a really nice offer but racing on borrowed expensive wheels was sort of a terrifying thought anyway.

no worries, like i said, that would have been terrifying to both: ride on borrowed (expensive) wheels, and use tubies for the firtst time in a race without training on them first or having a spare.

i wish i could do niwot but i have family in town and already blew them off for this.

good news is that 6th place plus double points for it being a championship means i'll be sitting in 2nd in Best All Around Rider whenever they get around to updating it.

Took 4th in the 35+_4. Not too bad for my first TT. That hill to the finish was hell! (or was there a hill...)
