Prize Haul 2010

My haul this year amounts to a Velo Promo t-shirt, and a wine bottle from being a feed.

What have you guys won? Anything unusual?

Sam Adams Coastal Wheat (one bottle). A "fun" prime at the Tuesday Night World Championships. I won another prime last night but left it for someone else to claim.

Funny. You have to be 21 to enter the Sam Adams site.

Only one t-shirt this year (Nutmeg State Games). 1 trophy + Leader's Jersey + Leader's Shoe Covers + Leader's Helmet (Bethel - and I misplaced the last day's prize money and GC bike shop gift cert :( )

botto 06-16-10 03:22 AM

this month? something like €30-40.

Grumpy McTrumpy 06-16-10 04:48 AM

I got a bronze medal that says "state championships" that feels somewhat like a millstone.

gsteinb 06-16-10 04:54 AM

Cash money - $700-800
A couple of jerseys - $60 each
Some trophies - $50
The ire of pcad for succeeding at the ridiculous hobby that occupies his most every waking thought - priceless

kensuf 06-16-10 05:39 AM

bronze medal that says something about a state championship, some cash.

El Diablo Rojo 06-16-10 05:45 AM

This has been my most succesful season to date:
$145.00 in cold hard cash
Cat 3 upgrade
Reasonably good health, this year all my issues have been self inflicted (stupid skateboard)

Tactically I'm starting to feel like I'm finally "getting" it, but that illusive W is still out there taunting me.

You'd think so but if you look back at the previous three seasons two had really bad colitis flair ups...this was the first season that I put together 6 healthy months in a row.

Homebrew01 06-16-10 07:19 AM

About $125, a medal & a jersey ..... but I've only done about 6 or 7 races this year, so not too bad.

brianappleby 06-16-10 07:23 AM

Lots of socks, about $350, a 6-pack and a polar water bottle. No velo promo shirts in CO though...

johnybutts 06-16-10 07:28 AM

about $300 in total - all of it has gone to gas/motels
a box of clif bars that i lost
a bag of chocolate chip cookies
29 upgrade points
a fit session at my old employer - who already fit me - poorly.
a set of RS20 wheels - fancy prime for whoever crossed the finish first the most number of times throughout the race.
a silver medal

tombailey 06-16-10 07:43 AM

Trophy for 4th (generous 5-place podium). It's a woman riding a bike. They obviously had access to my e-wang where my numbers are those of a CAT 4 woman (with apologies to all CAT 4 women).

GirlAnachronism 06-16-10 07:46 AM

I got a rock.

Allegheny Jet 06-16-10 07:56 AM

Somewhere around $40, blue bar tape, a jersey, and box of Bonkbuster Bars. So far I've finished out of the $ by 1 or 2 places at least 5 times. Last year I won a plastic urn that I've been putting all my cash winnings into. When I retire from racing I'll use all the money to have a pizza party with beer. There may even be enough $ to invite 1 or 2 friends over.

efficiency 06-16-10 08:58 AM

A razor to shave my legs with.

They give out crack at your races? Man you do live in a tough neighborhood ;)

JoesInBoston 06-16-10 09:02 AM

A crash story(Sunapee) and a teeshirt that I got just for entering (Battenkill).

saratoga 06-16-10 09:08 AM

Socks, one ($20) cash prime, a few comped entry fees for volunteering, gas money, dinner and a few free hotel stays from teammates that have ridden with me to races because I drive a vehicle the size of a school bus.

hammy56 06-16-10 09:08 AM

mattm 06-16-10 09:40 AM

glass trophy (below):

oh, and the cat 3 upgrade, approved today! (all this was won in the last few weeks)

most important winning was bragging rights, and a little "podium experience points". The podium can be an awkward place...

NickDavid 06-16-10 10:31 AM

6 sets of tires, some cash and a weak hand shake.

Frunkin 06-16-10 11:41 AM

$110 and some cookies. Not too bad for one month or racing.
